A few weeks ago, a gal I’ve worked with in the past reached out to me about a new beauty product. Except this one isn’t a cleanser or mask or new retinol eye cream. It’s a handheld anti aging device specifically designed to seek out damaged tissue and repair it, by stimulating the skin’s renewing properties. Yes, a handheld device! The Titan by Silk’n uses Collagen and Elastin Remodeling (CER) energy to wake up your body’s natural processes of cell renewal to restore skin. Right from your home. Crazy, right?
You might be thinking “you look young – why are you worried about this stuff?” To an extent, I’m not worried. I’m lucky that I got my Mama’s youthful Italian skin, and turning 30 this year didn’t spin me into any sort of panic. That being said, I am getting older, the bags under my eyes are real. And if there’s something easy and safe that I can do to keep my skin looking it’s best, why wouldn’t I?
But let’s pause for a minute to talk about safety. I can be quite skeptical – in fact this was the very first question I asked when they approached me. For reference, I don’t think there’s ANY way I’d do botox. Injecting something into my face has zero appeal to me. I’d rather just rock the crow’s feet that I earned from smiling a lot. 😉 So, when I started reading about this non invasive and pain free innovation, I was impressed. The Titan is FDA-cleared and there is a built-in heat stabilizer that measures the temperature of your skin during the treatment to prevent your skin from overheating. In other words, you are in control. I can handle that.
And finally, what really hooked my curiosity are the results it promises. The Titan handheld anti aging device works with special energy technology to reduce wrinkles and lift facial contours. It is proven to tighten skin, reduce wrinkles and fine lines, reduce sun and age spots, improve the structure and elasticity of the skin, and rejuvenate collagen and elastin fibers. All with no recovery time or pain.
I’ve just started using it, so I can’t really say if it delivers on all of those results yet. That being said, I’m excited to find out if I notice any undeniable results over the new few months. Especially because after every facial I’ve gotten (it’s not a lot haha), I always joke about how great my skin would feel if I could get a facial every week! Plus, the Titan uses the same new treatment that a lot of dermatologist’s use, so picking one up for at-home use is a great investment ($269).
So tell me again how this works?
There are 3 types of energy that the Titan uses. Infrared Energy increases blood circulation, which improves your skin’s tone and texture. LED Light Energy grows new collagen and helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. And last but not least, RF Energy goes beneath the skin to contract connective tissue, remodel collagen and strengthen elastin to lift and tighten your skin.
And how do I use it?
The first treatment is all about finding out which Titan energy level you like. You need to spread a thin layer of their Slider Gel over the area you want to treat. You can also apply it straight to the Titan itself. (I prefer that method!) This acts as the conductor so the energy can reach beneath the skin.
You’ll want to start at energy level 1 and increase gradually until you find the highest level that works for you. Once you’ve found it, move the device in linear motions, back and forth. Titan recommends the following areas, all to be treated separately for about 15 minutes each: forehead, cheeks, upper lip, chin, jawline, neck and around the eyes.
It is recommended that you should use the Titan by Silk’n twice a week for the first 4 weeks, and once a week after that until you reach your desired results. I’ve been traveling so much that I’ve been bad about that… but now that I’m back, it’s ON. Stay tuned!
To be honest, the warmth of this treatment is actually quite nice. I also like that it gives me a chance to shut my computer and simply sit on my couch for a little bit. Pop on a Netflix show and it’s a great way to wind down at the end of the day!
Would you try a handheld anti aging device like this?
