I know I know, we’re all pretty sick of gift guides. But when a bunch of you message me asking for help shopping for their coworkers, in-laws, Aunts/Uncles, Godparents, and more – I realized I needed to put this one together. Because let’s be real – we all need help getting gifts for people who are hard to shop for. It can be hard!
Gifts For People Who Are Hard To Shop For
Simple Home Gifts
Sometimes, I think it’s easy to overlook great gifts because they don’t seem exciting. The best example of that? This soap and lotion set. I’ve gotten it for my Aunt and Uncle, my Nana, my Mom… and all of them put it out in their guest bathrooms right away because it looks nice and smells AMAZING.
I also think holiday serveware are really fun gifts this time of year. Anyone who hosts anything around Christmas would probably love a festive new bowl for the entree they’re serving. Or this darling tree platter for cookies!
And then who wouldn’t want champagne flutes or a pretty new ornament? No. Brainers.
Food Gifts
I actually have a whole blog post coming all about why I love giving things that people can eat! But really, if you don’t know them well enough to know what they’d actually use and love – this is a great option! I personally think this William Sonoma Truffle Gift Set is a great idea.
But just in case they don’t like truffles, their dipping oil set, spice rub set, or Peppermint Bark Baking Crate would make great gifts!
Or, if you know they never go in their kitchens, get ’em fancy candy! Sugarfina always has amazing options – like this cocktail shaker & chocolate covered almonds that look like martini olives!
Thoughtful Customized Gifts
Okay, so maybe you don’t know what kind of material gift they like – but you know that they LOVE their family? Or you know that they are obsessed with their dog?! Find a photo and add it to the front of this personalized journal!
Or, if you’re looking to spend more than that, I discovered this custom house portrait. Seriously, I think this is the coolest gift for parents, especially if you’re looking for a gift that can be from both you and your significant other.
Nerdy Gifts
Similarly to my point above, maybe you don’t know exactly what this person wants. But maybe you DO know that they binge watched every season of Stranger Things in one weekend. Or that you got them hooked on Great British Baking Show and now they love it even more than you do. And THAT is when nerdy gifts like a Hawkins Middle School Sweatshirt or Great British Baking Show spoons are the best!
Coffee Table Books
If nothing else on this list is working for you, and you got this person a picture frame or candle last year – go for a coffee table book! There are so many beautiful options available from fashion to photography to travel and more! I know so many people who have been following Humans of New York for so long, so the book would be such a great gift!

HI!
I love your blog and your insta! I saw the Sugarfina candy and thought I’d make sure you know about Amy’s Candy Bar that’s near your new neighborhood. Amy’s is the most incredible shop — Amy and her staff are so kind & knowledgeable. There are treats made by Amy herself as well as candies (like some of the same as Sugarfina sells) that appeal .to people who love gummies or chocolate or sours or old fashioned stuff or anything! 🙂
