Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all got to enjoy a bit of this gorgeous weekend! I was pretty excited about feeling better on Saturday, so much so that Adam and I volunteered to karaoke at our friend’s birthday party! Haha even though I stuck to water and minimal bland foods all day, it was still really fun to get out. So obviously I thought I’d be totally back to normal yesterday… JK LOL good one, Lauren ? Needless to say, I’m back on the BRAT diet for today! Hopefully one or two more days is all I need to recover though… I’m getting so anxious!
But enough of that – let’s chat gifts! If you’re behind on some shopping, you probably don’t need me to tell you that you’re running out of time! There are definitely websites offering big discounts so expedited shipping doesn’t seem so bad. But there are also a ton of awesome companies with amazing gifts that give back. I don’t know about you, but I always feel so much better about spending money when I know that a portion (or ALL!) of the proceeds are going to a cause I believe in.
Gifts That Give Back
Everlane 100% Human Sweatshirt
You all know I love Everlane – remember their puffer coat made from plastic bottles?! In addition to the ReNew Collection, they also have a whole #HumanTogether campaign, created to remind us all that we are more alike than different. I have a sweatshirt from one of their first launches and I absolutely love it. Plus, Everlane will donate $5 to ACLU for every piece of clothing from the 100% Human collection!
Hot Bread Kitchen
A few weeks ago, my college roommate from freshman year at Syracuse University reached out to me about this AMAZING nonprofit organization. They provide economic opportunity through careers in food to women from over 40 different countries. Their breads are inspired by the women who bake them, from babka to naan to tortillas and rye bread. And your purchase supports the culinary training for these women. I’m trying the New York Bread Box this week, so stay tuned to my insta-stories and I’ll give you a peek!
Love Your Melon Beanie
Warby Parker Sunglasses
Prescription glasses might be a hard gift to buy, but who wouldn’t want sunglasses?! Plus I love supporting Warby Parker since they donate a pair of glasses for every pair sold. They’ve already donated over 4 million pairs of glasses to communities that need them. How amazing is that?
S’well Bottle
S’well is one of the most impressive companies out there – and it was founded by a female! They are a proud partner of UNICEF USA, and have committed $800,000 since 2015 to provide clean and safe water all over the world. This year, they focused even more on supporting water programs in Madagascar, where nearly 50% of the population lacks access to clean drinking water. They have also partnered with the New York City Mayor’s Office of Sustainability to launch BRING IT. This is a movement focused on educating today’s youth about reducing waste. S’well has also provided over 320,000 reusable bottles to NYC public high schools.
State Backpack
This brand is new to me, but all of their bags look so great! Plus for every one sold, a stocked backpack goes to a child in need. I especially like this backpack for your brother, BF/Husband, or friend who likes to travel!
Find Your Flame Candle
It looks like this candle might not ship in time for Christmas, but I love what it says! Also, Michelle Obama is donating all of the proceeds to the Global Girls Alliance!
Toms Shoes
Can’t go wrong with Toms! I love these boots for the guys in your life, and these cozy slippers for the gals. And not only do they still donate a pair of shoes every time they sell a pair, but the founder is also giving $5 million to organizations committed to ending gun violence. If you haven’t watched this video, do it. It’ll tug ya right in the heart strings.
Kiehl’s Collection For A Cause
Getting a high quality face wash, toner, mask and facial cream in a cute gift box should be enough of a draw. But it also benefits Feeding America?! Umm… no brainer!
