4 Recipes with Trader Joe’s Chicken Sausage
My favorite ways to use Trader Joe’s Chicken Sausage – one of my favorite things to buy each week!
As you can imagine, I’m always trying to think of content ideas. Sometimes it’s things I want to talk about, sometimes it’s what you want to talk about… but then there’s also the nerdy stuff. What do I mean? Well, it turns out a lot of people are getting to my Cauliflower Gnocchi with Asparagus and Pesto post by searching for “Trader Joe’s Chicken Sausage” – so why not write a post all about one of my favorite time-saving sources of protein, right?!
Trader Joe’s Chicken Sausage
I’m always trying new things at TJ’s, but one of my constants are their chicken sausages. They come in a variety of flavors (sun dried tomato and garlic are two of my faves!), and they’re pre-cooked so you don’t want to worry about making sure they’re cooked all the way through. All you have to do is heat them up and dinner is ready!
How To Make It
Option 1 – Sauté them!
Slice the sausages into bite sized pieces and add them to a pan with a small amount of oil. Sauté until they are warm on the inside and slightly browned on the outside. Add them to eggs, pastas, your favorite veggies – really anything!
Option 2 – Grill them!
You can put them on the grill whole (just like you would a hot dog!) or slice them and thread onto skewers. Either way, it should take about 8 minutes to heat them through and get a nice char on the outside. Just be sure to turn them so both sides get a chance on the grates!
Option 2 – Roast them!
Cut the chicken sausage into slices and add to a sheet pan with your favorite vegetables. Roast in a 425 degree oven for 25-30 minutes. I usually toss halfway through when I do this – it’s great with brussels sprouts, potatoes/sweet potatoes, broccoli, and so many other veggies!
Recipes With TJ’s Chicken Sausage
Chicken Sausage with Breakfast Potatoes, Arugula, and a Fried Egg
This is one of those “no recipe recipes” that I love to make on the weekends. All you need is some of TJ’s Roasted Potatoes with Peppers (the best breakfast potatoes – better than hash browns! Find it in the frozen section.), 1 or 2 TJ’s chicken sausages, some arugula, and an egg – that’s it! Cut the chicken sausages and saute with the roasted potatoes and peppers (as much as you want that morning). While that’s cooking, fry up an egg. Once everything is warm and a little crispy, transfer to a plate with fresh arugula. Top with salt and pepper. Oh, and it’s great with a little hot sauce, too!
