5 Easy Thanksgiving Side Dishes
Any normal year, I would tell you that I hope this post helps you figure out what to bring to your family’s big Thanksgiving dinner or your friend’s epic Friendsgiving party. But even though that doesn’t apply this year (thanks a lot, COVID), I still hope this post is helpful… because honestly, who doesn’t love side dishes?!
Whether you are able to eat with your parents or you’re totally on your own, cooking is part of what makes Thanksgiving THANKSGIVING, right? I totally understand not wanting to make a whole turkey for 2 people – I wouldn’t either, that’s why I posted this Roast Chicken recipe! 😂 But that chicken, plus one or two (or five?) of these sides is a different story. None of these are overly difficult, but they still bring a whole lot of comforting flavors to your table. Thanksgiving 2020’s got nothing on you!
5 Easy Thanksgiving Side Dishes
1. Parmesan Brussels Sprouts
These parmesan brussels sprouts are not only delicious, but they are also ridiculously easy to make. I love that it makes a reasonable amount so you won’t have leftovers for weeks… but you can also just double or triple the batch once big gatherings are safe again!
2. Crockpot Cranberry Apple Sauce
This Crockpot Cranberry Apple Sauce is delish – and foolproof! Literally all you have to do is add everything to a crockpot and let it go. Seriously, foolproof. Get the recipe here!
3. Green Bean Casserole (with fresh green beans!)
This Green Bean Casserole is for any of you who don’t like the OG recipe with canned beans and canned soup… like me 😉 This recipe is made with fresh green beans, a mushroom sauce from scratch, and everyone’s favorite crispy onions. (I knew I couldn’t touch that part of this dish!) Get the recipe here!
4. Vegetarian Stuffed Mushrooms
These stuffed mushrooms are a staple at all of our family holidays – and for good reason! They smell like heaven as they cook, and even people who claim they don’t like mushrooms change their mind for these bad boys. For me, there are few things that taste like the holidays as much as stuffed mushrooms 😍
5. Cauliflower with Spices, Herbs, and Pomegranate Seeds
Looking for something healthy, flavorful, and a little different this year? This cauliflower side dish may not be traditional for Thanksgiving, but it is super delicious – and it will make a really pretty addition to your table, too!
