5 Things: Everlane Shorts, Reusable Moving Boxes, an interview, and more!
Happy Saturday! As you’ve heard me say this week, getting through my to-do list this week was rough. I’m used to being SUPER productive, so the fact that Luna required so much of my attention was an adjustment. Needless to say, I’m extremely happy that Adam is back from his business trip. (Already dreading the next time he has to leave town ?)
But on to this post! After a few of these “5 Things” posts, I’ve realized that you guys like this type of breakdown, so I now have a running note on my computer with ideas! Just comment or DM if there’s something you’d like me to cover and I’ll add it to my list! Now let’s chat about the shorts in the picture above, shall we??
Everlane Shorts
I usually have such a hard time finding shorts. I mean, those expensive ones that everyone and their mother loves? No good on me ? I think it’s because I have a small waist, but my thighs and booty are definitely… not small! Luckily, Everlane just sent me their new cheeky denim shorts and THEY FIT! GUYS! THEY FIT!
I tried them on for my insta-story fam yesterday, so definitely head over there to see more of them/hear about sizing/etc. But the moral of the story is that they’re awesome. And only $58! Wahoo!!!!
Redi-Box
I moved last JULY, and I still get messages all the time about “those plastic reusable bins” I used ? It makes me laugh because I didn’t work with Redi-Box at all, I just found them so helpful that I wanted to share!
I hate dealing with cardboard boxes and tape for a few reasons. First, it’s crazy wasteful. Even when you save the boxes with the intention of reusing them next time you move… do you really? And second, I always get nervous about overpacking them. Is the bottom going to give out and break all my plates?! Ahhhh anxiety!
Redi-Box takes all of that out of the equation. They’re sturdy and reusable – and the company drops them off AND picks them up for you. I couldn’t recommend them more!
Somewhere In Between Interview
A few months ago, I spoke on a panel with Millennials Making Moves. After the event, a gal named Neha introduced herself to me and we instantly hit it off. Neha is a career and energy coach helping women create lives they love. After hearing my story on the panel, she asked if I would share my experience in that “in between” phase of my life, and of COURSE, I agreed.
The interview is a real deep dive into that confusing time of my life when I didn’t know what I wanted or where I was heading. It can feel SO isolating when you’re in that place, but the truth is that a lot of us experience that at some point in our lives. Here’s a little snippet:
I used to say “I’m ready for the good part” when I was unhappy. To me, the “in between” was so scary. What was I supposed to be doing? What if I never found anything else that I loved to do? But going through that confusing “in between” time was so incredibly transformative for me. It taught me that dreams change, and that’s okay. It taught me that the universe has so much more in store for us than we realize, if only we open ourselves up to the possibilities that present themselves. And more than anything, it taught me that there is ALWAYS more to learn. As much as we all might want to reach a finish line, we should never stop learning. For anyone going through an “in between” time, embrace it. Try all the things, feel all the feelings, and be open to what comes your way.
And if you want more, I also did a quick little interview with Hire Influence this week, too!
Wee-Wee Grass Pads
When Luna was having trouble sleeping through the night, one of my followers told me she got a piece of sod for her balcony. Ummm GENIUS! But instead of doing exactly that, we found these Wee-Wee Grass Pads and bought 2 for our deck to test them out.
Luna went on it on our first try. WIN! Obviously, we still take her for walks most of the time, but this is SO handy when we’re in a pinch for time or if she gets up in the middle night. Since we don’t have a yard, we have to walk a block over to the nearest patch of grass… not really something we want to do at 3am. This has solved that problem and I highly recommend it if you’re raising a city dog!
Slip Sleep Mask
A few weeks ago, I wore my Slip Sleep Mask in an insta-story and you guys went kind of nuts for it! So many questions and so many more swipe ups than I expected!
Here’s the thing – I know $50 for an eye mask might seem kind of crazy, but it’s worth it. The silk is really high quality so it feels amazing on your eyes, and (believe it or not) it has anti-aging benefits. I love it because it doesn’t tug at the delicate parts of your face, aka no weird creases on your face when you wake up. I wear it almost every night – it’s the best!
