A Classic Long Sleeve Bridal Shower Dress
Are your wedding festivities during cold weather seasons? Meet the perfect long sleeve Bridal Shower dress!
Dress: Gal Meets Glam (Available on GMG and Nordstrom. Runs TTS – I’m wearing a size 2 and it’s a little long in the arms, but the length still hits above the knee. An actual petite size would probably fit better, but this isn’t bad! I’m 5’1.5″ for reference.)
Belt: Nordstrom (Mine is a few years old, but this one is very similar!) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (I’ve had this bag for years and it’s still a favorite!) | Sunglasses: Loft | Pumps: Calvin Klein (A great affordable pump that’s won’t hurt your feet.)
I feel funny writing this post today because I look so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the photos… while I’m in leggings and a sweatshirt in real life ? I usually feel a little thrown off the day after a trip to California (or farther), but because I didn’t even land until 1:00 am last night, it’s worse today! Instead of powering through like I normally would, I’ve let myself take a slower pace today so I don’t run myself into the ground. But I at least wanted to get this post up today because I’m obsessed with this DRESS!
A Classic Long Sleeve Bridal Shower Dress
Whenever I used to think of Bridal Showers, I would think of sunshine-y days and white flowy dresses. So, when we picked a wedding date in May, I realized that probably wouldn’t be the reality for either of my showers! Most likely, it’s going to be chilly outside… if not, COLD. Which means I needed to shift my shopping from an easy breezy white dress to a long sleeve Bridal Shower dress. Do those exist?
As I started shopping, I was getting a little worried that cream sweater dresses were my only somewhat warm options that could work for a petite gal – but then I found this Gal Meets Glam dress! It’s feminine, flirty, and flattering. AND it has long sleeves! WINNER!
This dress is perfectly adorable on it’s own, but to ground it a little for Fall, I added black accessories. You can’t get more classic than black and white – and I like that the belt helps define the waist a little bit more.
And speaking of defining the waist – because this dress isn’t a petite size, the proportions aren’t perfect. The waist could be a little bit higher and more fitted, and the sleeves are definitely too long. That being said, adding a belt helps one of those things, and a simple trip to the tailor helps the other. If that’s all it takes to make it work for my 5’1.5″ self, I’m totally fine with that!
