Let’s talk about one of my favorite trends right now: active dresses for women!! As some of you may remember, I snagged a Reformation active dress way back during Cyber Week sales just hoping that they would be “in” this summer… and here we are! They might be called active dresses, fitness dresses, workout dresses, or tennis dresses – but they’re all pretty much the same thing.
The majority of them are made with some sort of moisture-wicking material that has some stretch to it so you can move comfortably. Some of them also have a built in shelf bra, and pretty much all of them have built-in shorts so you don’t have to worry about flashing anyone 😉 Ideal!
There are a ton of options out there at a bunch of different price points, so let’s break a few of them down.
Active Dresses For Women
Reformation Active Dress – $98
As I mentioned above, I got this Reformation Active Dress back during Cyber sales and I’m SO glad I did! I got a size small and it fits me really well. It’s definitely short, but I think it’s totally fine because of the built in shorts. While my print is old now, this Bella Ecomove Active Dress style comes in black and polka dots this season.
But wait, they have more styles this year! I am currently eyeing the Farrah dress in red, white, and blue – how cute would that be for a 4th of July party?! I also love the Leslie Ecomove Zip Front Dress (that red color!) and the Milana Ecomove Dress.
Abercrombie Traveler Dress
Next up, the dress I keep seeing everywhere – the Traveler Mini Dress from Abercrombie! Full disclosure, I didn’t end up keeping this dress because I wasn’t wild about the color in person and when I returned it, the colors I wanted were sold out. But it comes in 11 colors now, along with more styles which I’ll chat about in a second. This particular dress feels more lightweight than my Ref dress, which I wasn’t sure I liked but I actually think it will be nice on super hot days. It’s a sweat-wicking material with built on shorts and adjustable straps. I am wearing a petite small!
While this is the classic, I have both the one shoulder style and cutout style in my cart right now, and I have a feeling I’m going to like these even more! Both are made with the same active material and they have built in shorts.
Old Navy PowerSoft Dress
I haven’t tried the Old Navy active dress on yet but I have a few friends who own and LOVE IT. I love the really simple style with the cute little notch in the skirt. Adorable!
