The Best Affordable Winter Skincare – Advanced Clinicals
One of the trickiest parts of dealing with winter is the toll it takes on our skin. I know I’m not the only one who struggles with dry skin when the temps drop, because whenever I mention it on Instagram, I get TONS of DMs commiserating with me and asking for recommendations ? Us Midwestern gals have to stick together, right?!
While I love a few different brands for a few different reasons, I want to specifically talk about Advanced Clinicals today because it is, in my opinion, the best affordable winter skincare brand that I’ve tried. I first discovered Advanced Clinicals skincare a few years ago when they sent me a press package, and since then, I have become such a huge fan. Not only do they have incredibly reasonable price points, but their products are also amazing for dry winter skin!
What is Advanced Clinicals?
Before we dive into my favorite products, let’s quickly chat about the brand! Advanced Clinicals is a problem-solving skincare line developed with high quality ingredients by chemists – and it’s manufactured right here in Chicago! Their mission is to bring effective skin care solutions to customers at attainable prices. What does that mean? Well, in a world where most skincare is at least over $50, all Advanced Clinicals products retail for under $20! Yup, BELIEVE IT!

My Favorite Advanced Clinicals Products for Winter Skin
Hyaluronic Gel Face Cream – $14.95
Every year when the temperatures drop, I search for the most hydrating product I can get my hands on… and this Hyaluronic Gel Face Cream is honestly THE BEST. It’s not oily or heavy, it absorbs right in your skin nicely, and it keeps your skin super hydrated. Out of all of their new face creams, this one is my favorite – and that’s saying something, because they’re all awesome!
Encapsulated Retinol Face Cream – $14.95
If you’ve been afraid to dip your toes into the world of retinol, this face cream is a GREAT place to start. It’s potent, but also really light and gentle – which isn’t always the case when it comes to retinol. I’ll admit that for me, it’s worth it to splurge on my favorite retinoid serum by a different brand, but I don’t like to use it every single night since it’s a high dose. This is an excellent compliment to that.
Plant Based Collagen Face Cream – $14.95
This is another really great moisturizer for winter – and a little bit creamier (less gel-like) than the Hyaluronic Gel Face Cream. It has 2.0 percent of Marula Oil in the formula, which is rich an anti-aging amino acids, moisturizing fatty acids, protective antioxidants, and blemish blasting antimicrobial properties. Basically, when my skin is clear, the Hyaluronic Cream is my favorite – but when I’m breaking out or fighting a pimple, this one is the winner.
Tea Tree Oil – $12.95
If you buy ONE Advanced Clincals product, it should be their tea tree oil. This oil is straight up magic if you have a breakout or severe dry patches on your skin. The blend of Tea Tree Oil, Vitamin E, Witch Hazel and Sunflower Extract is really hydrating, but also really calming. I’ve found this to be most useful when a pimple is healing. It helps reduce the inflammation, heal any cracked skin around it, and prevent any scaring or lingering bumps/redness. This is one of those skincare products that will ALWAYS be in my cabinet. It’s honestly amazing.
Tea Tree Clarifying Gel Mask – $12.95
Now that you know that I love their Tea Tree Oil, I have to mention this new Tea Tree Gel Mask, too. Similarly to the oil, this mask also helps soothe and calm irritated skin. In addition, the Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, Calendula, Witch Hazel, and Honey in it helps increase the moisture in your skin, too. This is obviously great in the winter, but also if you are on acne medication that dries your skin out. You can use this as a quick treatment (leave on for 30 minutes and rinse off), but I like to keep it on overnight.
Vitamin C Serum – $12.95
This Vitamin C Serum works with ferulic acid to promote firmer skin and a more even complexion. If you’ve been struggling with dark spots, uneven tone, and expression lines, this could help you! Also, for reference, the other Vitamin C serum that I’ve tried retails for $79… so $12.95 is a MAJOR steal.
10% Glycolic Serum – $15.95
If you’re looking for a serum that works overnight, this is an awesome option. They use an advanced blend of glycolic, lactic, salicylic, and phytic acids dissolve dead skin cells to reveal fresh glowy skin. It also helps to diminish signs of uneven texture and promotes collagen building.
Cica Serum – $12.95
Cica has been used for centuries to fight the signs of aging, and Advanced Clinicals combined it with herbal extracts to improve elasticity, smooth your skin, and firm facial features. I especially love that it’s not drying at all!
The Moisture Bundle – $16
The Moisture Bundle comes with the Collagen Hand Cream and Cracked Heel Cream. Since we’re all washing our hands more than ever, we all need a good hand cream more than ever too! This one is formulated with aloe vera, shea butter, and plant collagen – and it is SUPER hydrating. The plant collagen also helps improve the look of wrinkles, which is a nice little bonus!
Rosewater Toner – $12.95
Did you know that scientists say that the ideal pH of healthy skin is ≤ 5.5 and dryness and premature aging can occur when that balance is off? Luckily, this Rosewater Toner can help you maintain that pH level by softening dry skin, tightening your complexion, and boosting hydration.
Hemp Seed Oil Instant Hydration Cream – $15.00
This is our go-to body lotion! I’ve been using this one for years and it’s the best. Hemp Seed Oil is really rich in essential fatty acids like Omegas 3, 6, and 9 and helps restore hydration to your dry skin. It also has Rosehip, Coconut, and Evening Primrose Oils, plus Shea Butter and Vitamin E which have anti-aging properties. But above all that, $15 for 16oz of super hydrating and high quality lotion? You literally can’t beat that!
Hemp Seed Instant Hydration Body Oil – $12.95
If you find yourself needing something stronger than lotion (think negative degrees outside), body oils are where it’s AT. I’ll be honest, I used to use their Collagen Lifting Body Oil before trying this Hemp Seed Body Oil, and I can’t really tell the difference… but does it matter if both help hydrate your ridiculously dry skin? I also love that both oils absorb really quickly, so you don’t have to worry about staining your clothes or shivering as it absorbs ?
