You guys… I’m 30 today! Whaaaat?!

To be honest, I’ve kind of been waiting for the freak out moment that you see on tv and in the movies. You know, that moment when the girl mourns the loss of her twenties and is scared about entering into this new decade?! Yeah, I haven’t felt that yet! Actually, I don’t think I’m going to at all. Since my late 20s were SO much better than my early 20s, I’m pretty hopeful that things just keep getting better as you get older.

In fact, I started to put together a post called 30 Things I Learned Before 30, and I realized it was just way too much text to go with all these photos today. But it was such a fun exercise for me anyway – regardless of if it made it to today’s post or not. (It’s live now – click here!) More than anything, it gave me a chance to reflect on everything I’ve learned in my adult life. All the lessons that I didn’t understand when I first graduated college. Writing all of it down made me so grateful for where I am today, instead of worried about any silly timelines. In fact, that’s #1 on my list. Timelines are BS. Haha I think you’re all going to like that post. At least I hope so ?

But let’s talk about this black romper

Amanda Uprichard gets all the credit for this little number. She sent it to me about a month ago, and my first thought was “Damn” and my second thought was “where am I going to wear this?” Umm HELLO 30th Birthday! As soon as I zipped it up, I knew it was perfect for the occasion. It’s a lot sexier than anything I probably would have picked out on my own, but is that a bad thing? Nah. It’s a big birthday! If there is ever a time, this is the time to put on a sexy romper and strut your stuff, right?!

To celebrate tonight, I’m going out to dinner with my family and closest friends. Even though it isn’t a huge group, I am SO excited to have so many important people in one room. I think I’ve really started to understand that whole “quality over quantity” concept, and all I really need is my family and “forever friends” to make me feel extremely grateful. And then all of the other awesome people I’ve met, and continue to meet, in Chicago are the BEST kind of frosting! Here’s to a fun night out!
