Palm Print in Palm Springs
As you guys already know, my brother got married in Palm Springs a few weeks ago… and I wouldn’t be a blogger if I didn’t think about sneaking in a photoshoot during my trip to the desert, right?! Don’t worry, I was well aware the weekend wasn’t about me – which meant that if I was going to shoot something, it had to be something awesome.
Then, about a month before the wedding, I was scrolling through instagram and I spotted this dress by Amanda Uprichard. HELLO PERFECTION. And then, as if my mind wasn’t already made up, I stumbled upon the prettiest backdrops at the La Quinta Resort as soon as I arrived.
Done deal. This was happening. Let’s go.
The only part I hadn’t thought through? Umm the photographer… woops! My boyfriend wasn’t arriving until that evening, and everyone else was busy with their wedding duties, relaxing in a pool, or someone I don’t trust with my camera… Enter: Little N. (aka what Ali calls my mom!)
She’s shot for me before, but this was her best work yet. She was super patient and helped capture this perfect dress in this perfect place. Thank you SO much for your help, Ma!
Now, back to this palm print maxi! I have to apologize because this print is actually unavailable online, BUT this new floral print is gorgeous!! It feels light and breezy, super feminine and extra flirty with not one, but TWO, slits. Oh yea.
No, I didn’t bring this pretty palm print maxi along just to shoot it – I also wore this to their Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party! Obviously the wedding was insanely beautiful, but I also loved that first night with everyone. The rehearsal dinner was really small, probably the smallest one I’ve ever attended… which made it feel extra intimate and special. The speeches were extremely sweet and personal – and even though I knew what I wanted to say, I still cried when I got up there. Can’t help it – I just love those two!
And THEN we went to the welcome party to see everyone else that flew in for the weekend! This isn’t something I’ve ever really been to either, but it was SO nice to mingle with everyone before the big day. I personally loved that I got to say hi to so many friends and family before the real chaos began. I can only imagine how it is for the bride and groom, because the actual wedding day goes by so fast even when you’re just in the bridal party – it’s so easy to miss your chance to chat with or even hug someone that you haven’t seen in a while! This party gave us all a chance to connect, so we could just focus on enjoying the next day. And we did 😉
Ali gave all of her bridesmaids this clutch (with our monograms) as a bridesmaids gift, and it’s already a favorite of mine. The python texture and gold detail make this anything but ordinary. Plus, the fact that Ali got it for me for being in their wedding? I’ll wear this baby with pride forEVER.
Have you guys been to Palm Springs before?! Where did you stay/what did you do?! Not gonna lie, it makes me want to go back for Coachella one day… who’s in?!
