Last month, in addition to surprising my Nana for her birthday, I flew out east and spent some time in good old NYC. As most of you know, I lived there for about 3 1/2 years right after I graduated from college… and even though I definitely had a love/hate relationship with living there, visiting felt really great. The sun was shining, the skies were blue, and temps were ideal for wandering around my old stomping grounds.
Despite jam packing the weekend with activities, I was thrilled that Nick (@Coastal_Flicks) and I scheduled some time to shoot! The perfect weather was ideal for photos in Central Park – something I’ve never done, because I didn’t start this blog until I moved to Chicago! The park was always one of my favorite places to be in Manhattan, so I’m thrilled that I could bring a piece of that life to Lake Shore Lady for the first time.
Since I flew in earlier that morning, a comfortable dress was essential. This BB Dakota gem is breezy and effortless, but still fun and flirty. Oh, and it’s under $100! Win!
When I say this day was beautiful, I’m really not doing it justice. I kept saying that New York rolled out the red carpet for me! I was experiencing only the very best that Manhattan has to offer – the sun was shining off of the buildings, the park was as green as could be, and everything that filled my day made me happy! I caught up with some of my favorite people, met with a company about a very exciting LSL update (coming soon!), and visited Chef Anthony Sasso at Casa Mono for an epic meal. Anddd maybe we ended the night singing show tunes in a basement bar in the West Village? I’d say that’s a good day.
Since this was such a fun visit, I’m already eager to plan another trip! Maybe in the fall? How’s that for you, New York?
Big thanks again to Nick from Coastal Flicks for the photos!
