The Best Spice Cookies
Remember when I told you about my collaboration with Midwest Living Magazine in this post? Don’t worry, I’ll give you a refresher anyway ? Basically, a few months ago, Midwest Living hosted a Holiday Recipe Contest and asked me to judge it. I got to pick the best recipe in each category, re-create it, and shoot the finish products for the magazine. It was super fun, especially because it led me to incredible recipes like these spice cookies!
I was so excited when I picked this for the cookie category, because it was submitted by another Chicago Blogger! Nicole from Windy City Dinner Fairy is not only really sweet and talented in the kitchen – but she also makes the most INCREDIBLE cakes. We’re talking minions and Elmo and Monsters, Inc. Unreal. So when I realized I picked her recipe, I was so excited! Go Chicago!
Luckily, she’s already posted the recipe for her spice cookies on her site, so if you can’t get your hands on Midwest Living Magazine, you can get the recipe here.
If you like gingerbread or even pumpkin spice, you’ll love these cookies. The ginger, cinnamon and all spice make them smell and taste festive right away. Plus, I love the chewy consistency. So comforting and delicious!

Join me to support another Chicago blogger at Macy’s on State St this weekend! I’ll be cheering on my friend Kit from The Kittchen as she demos how to whip up festive party snacks on Saturday (Dec. 2nd) from 12:00-1:30pm! Coming from someone who’s had Kit’s creations before… the samples alone will be worth the trip ? If your’e interested, you can RSVP right here!
