The Best Weekender Bags
Hey friends! Now that travel is back again, I thought this post could use a little update! I was always a rolling carry-on gal no matter how short the trip was… but then all of the airlines changed everything. I’m such a budget traveler, that the idea of spending an extra $75-$100+ on a ticket just so I can bring a rolling bag for quick weekend trips seemed so silly.
So I ordered the Beis weekender bag in hopes that I could become a more strategic packer for those super quick getaways. Plus it’s nice to have something to pack in if I’m just spending a night at my parents or we’re getting away for a weekend away within driving distance.
My Beis Weekender Bag Review
After purchasing this Beis weekender bag, I used it for so many trips before the pandemic hit. For a weekender bag, it’s incredibly roomy. The bottom compartment is meant for shoes, but it’s a great place to put your neatly folded clothes, too (as long as you don’t get it dirty with your shoes!). The main compartment is much bigger than the bottom, and can fit more clothes, your toiletries and makeup, and it even has a laptop sleeve.
A few downsides are that it’s a big bag – so if you want to push it under the seat in front of you, you can’t pack it to the brim. (The did just come out with a mini version though so that might be worth a try!) The canvas also isn’t as sleek as some other weekenders I’ve seen… but it’s also not nearly as expensive.
This one is only $98 (they just raised it from $88) whereas a more professional looking leather bag will likely be more than that. This is perfect for my needs at this point in my life. But it just depends on what you’re going to be using it for!
If you’re looking for something casual and roomy, I give the Beis weekender bag a big thumbs up. I’m so happy with the purchase, and really impressed that it’s held up for multiple years now. I highly recommend!!
Beis Backpack Review
If you follow me on Instagram or TikTok, you probably saw that I also got the Beis backpack for our trip to Italy! Since we had long travel days to/from Italy + travel days on trains from city to city within Italy, I wanted something that I could comfortably wear while walking long distances and through a lot of people. Even as I pressed “order” I wondered if 2 Beis bags were overkill – but now I can confirm that this is the perfect addition to my collection of travel bags!
Like their other products, this backpack is super high quality and very affordable (only $78!). I wasn’t sure how roomy it would be in real life, but you can actually fit A LOT in it, thanks to multiple compartments, interior mesh pockets, and a padded laptop sleeve.
I especially like that the main compartment zips all the way open, and it has 4 point elastic compression straps to hold everything in place. If you specifically want a bag that will always fit under the seat in front of you on a plane, I’d recommend this over the weekender. Even if you fill it to the max, it’s still only 13″ x 19″ x 5.5″ which shouldn’t get you into trouble with most airlines.
Have you tried a Beis weekender bag yet?

Ughhh United is literally the WORST for charging you so much extra to put a bag in the overhead bin! I try to avoid them now because they are evil haha. I think these are really good options though for those scenarios when the cheapest flight is one where you can’t bring an overhead bin bag! Thanks for the ideas 🙂 I always prefer a rolling bag because it kills my back to have to carry something over my shoulder, but I guess sometimes you need to save the money!
