Shop my Bride sweatshirt here!
Alright friends, let’s talk about bridesmaid gift ideas!!! I’ve been struggling with this a bit for a few reasons. First of all, I’m one of the last of my friends to get married, so I feel like all of the gifts have been done before and/or we’re just at and age when we don’t want or need more stuff. That being said, I know that giving and receiving gifts is a major love language for some people – and it can be really special to give a gift that will always remind your favorite ladies of such an important day.
So, I asked all of you to share your favorite bridesmaid gift that you’ve ever gotten – and the responses were so great that I knew I had to share them here! But before we dive in, I just want to mention that SO MANY PEOPLE said that they appreciated the bride paying for hair and/or makeup more than any other gift. Someone even said “My BFF did really lovely, thoughtful gifts and I wish she’d paid for makeup instead.” Weddings can get expensive if you’ve asked your bridesmaids to buy their bridesmaids dress, travel for a bachelorette and/or shower, travel for the wedding, etc. Helping to ease the financial burden might not be the most exciting gift, but that doesn’t mean it’s not meaningful!
Bridesmaid Gift Ideas
Alright, let’s start with the most controversial, shall we?! Some of you were very passionately against robes, so I’m just going to defend myself here for ones second 😂 I bought robes for my bridesmaids about a year and a half ago so there’s not returning them now! Also, bridesmaids DO need something to wear that won’t mess up their hair and makeup, so I still think it’s a perfectly lovely gesture to get them a pretty robe for that. Obviously if you’re more a PJ or button down crowd, opt for that instead. But I think it’s nice to purchase something for them so they don’t have to worry about figuring out what to wear that morning as they get ready.
If you want to go with pajamas instead of robes, I love this pair from Nordstrom so much that I can guarantee your bridesmaids will get a lot of use out of them after the wedding. Also, my sister-in-law got us all Piyama pajamas for her wedding and they have a ton of really cute styles and prints.
Getting jewelry for you bridesmaids to wear on your wedding day is a really sweet gift, especially if it’s their style and/or simple enough to wear again! According to your answers, you guys really love Kendra Scott and Kate Spade. That being said, if you want to support some local gals, I’d recommend Abby Alley and VO Jewelry!
Portable Phone Charger
I think we’re going to steal this idea because honestly, who wants their phone to die at a fun wedding?! There are a ton of really affordable options on Amazon, but I also love this one inside a luggage tag too!
Shoes to Dance In
You can take this suggestion in a lot of different directions, but I think foldable flats are a great option because they’re easy to carry around all day and night. Tieks are the definitely the most famous, but they’re also pricey – so I’d go for a pair from an off brand like these instead! I also just got these sandals that would be great for dancing at the end of the night, too.
Personalized Water Bottle
Everyone should own a reusable water bottle, so why not get them a really nice one that’s personalized just for them? I own and love my S’well bottle, so I’d go that route – but there are a ton of other options out there.
Personalized Wine Cup
If you know your friends already have enough water bottles, get them an insulated wine cup instead! My friend Kate just got this for us when we went down to Florida, and we drank both water and wine out of it all weekend 😂 Such a great gift!
While we’re talking about beverages, Brumate is also a GREAT place to get wedding party gifts. The Brumate Slim fits any slim cans like White Claw or Loverboy, while the Hopsulator TRiO can hold 16oz cans or you can add an adaptor for 12 oz cans or simply use it has a 16oz glass. Can’t you imagine the whole wedding party with these on the bus to the reception?!
Lipstick as Bridesmaid Gift Ideas
This is such a simple and genius idea, I wish I had thought of it! The person who submitted it said that the bride gave them a really nice one (I’m thinking Charlotte Tilbury or YSL.) that they could use to touch up their lipstick throughout the day/night. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
Everyone I know who owns these travel cases RAVE about them, and you can get them monogrammed! I personally own and love this makeup bag if you’re looking for something less expensive, but you can’t personalize it.
Travel Jewelry Case
If you have a lot of bridesmaids flying in for the wedding, a travel jewelry case is such a practical gift!!
Tote Bag/Beach Bag
This gift idea came up a lot, and I can confirm that it’s a great gift – as long as it hasn’t been done within your friend group already! I would check out LL Bean and Land’s End. Both of them are great quality and you can add monograms!
My sister-in-law got us all Gigi New York clutches to wear the night of the wedding and I still wear mine ALL THE TIME. I also think a leather Madewell clutch is lovely if you’re looking for a less expensive option!
CBD Bath Bombs
While I definitely wouldn’t get everyone CBD oil, who wouldn’t want to relax after a wedding weekend with a bath bomb?! Also, my favorite Mindful Mineral Soak is sold out right now, but you can get 3 mini bags for $36 right now – so if you have 6 bridesmaids, that’s a great option! As always, don’t forget to use the code LAKESHORELADY for 15% off your purchase.
I think this is a really cute idea (especially one from The Sill!) but I also don’t understand how this works logistically. I would very much advise against this unless all of your bridesmaids are local and/or you can have them delivered directly to their homes at another time.
