An Updated Brocade Dress
Since Christmas and New Years are inching closer and closer, I thought I’d take some time this week to talk about two of my favorite holiday party looks! As most of you know, I got to shoot a Holiday Lookbook with Alice & Wonder a few weeks back – and two of the best parts about helping out my friend Ali with that project is getting some fun inspiration from her fashionable self AND getting the photos to use here on LSL!
I’ll admit, the two outfits I’m featuring this week are completely different. The second one is really fun and modern, but this first one is classic all the way, maybe even a little retro. The brocade pattern of the dress gave me major 1950’s vibes right away – in a good way, duh! And once they added the faux fur stole and I felt suuuper fancy. Not complaining one bit ?
Dress: Endless Rose from Alice & Wonder | Tights: Nordstrom | Shawl: Alice & Wonder | Shoes: Calvin Klein | Clutch: Alice & Wonder
I also love that the form fitting silhouette and exposed zipper give this brocade dress a little bit of edge. It isn’t all conservative and sweet… but still classy enough to wear around your parents without a worry!
Would you wear a brocade dress?
How about a faux fur stole? Is it too much… or just right? Either way, come back on Thursday to see my next holiday look – and let me know which one you like better!
