Bronde
You guys! You totally already know this, but I became a BRONDE!
(And yes, I stole that hilarious term from Blake Lively.)

So, here’s the deal. I discovered Jordan Heidenwith through a few of my blogger friends who visited him at Dennis Bartolomei and RAVED about his work. I immediately followed his instagram account and we started interacting on social media as if we were old pals right away. When I finally made it to the salon myself, I felt like I already knew him – and therefore, I already felt like I could trust him with my hair. Sooo…
We started talking about what I thought I wanted and the tame things I’ve done to my hair in the past. As we chatted, he suggested balayage and going lighter, and I finally just said, “I think you should do whatever you think will look awesome.” Haven’t you always wanted to say that to a stylist?! It was so liberating! I trust you, master!
I started to get nervous as he dried it and I saw how light we went, but his enthusiasm immediately calmed me down. By the time he was done working his magic, I felt like a million bucks. And even though I’m used to the color now, it still makes me feel super sassy. Who doesn’t like that?!
It was extra fun because I got this done right before the cute blogger picnic that I posted about last week. I always love when I have plans after getting my hair done – you gotta show it off, am I right?!
Now, I know I didn’t dye my hair platinum or get a tattoo or crazy piercing, but this little change is something I wouldn’t have done a couple of years ago, and it has made me think about taking chances.
2015 has been a big year for that. Taking chances. Putting myself out there. Being bold. Going after what I want. Trying new things. Meeting new people. And you know what? It’s been a killer year so far. Closing myself off and making excuses doesn’t do any good. I mean, what’s the worst that can happen? Life begins outside of your comfort zone, right?!
A huge thank you to Jordan Heidenwith and the Dennis Bartolomei Salon for their wonderful work. Seriously, the best. And if you need a new stylist, you can contact Jordan at hairbyjheidenwith@gmail.com. He’s the nicest, I promise!!
Also, thanks to my pals The Kittchen and Charmingly Styled for snapping these pics for me!!

Oh my gosh I love it!! And I cannot believe I've never heard "bronde" before. It's genius! The last time I got my hair colored I got terrible caramel highlights and the stylist made me look terrible. I basically had blonde hair with thick brown eyebrows. I think that experience scarred me for life!

I stole that term from Blake Lively haha – I don't think it was a term before her, but I love it! And a bad experience is so scary. That's why I've never been adventurous with my hair before, but Jordan is such a pro. It's all about finding the right stylist!
