Happy New Year!
Dress: Rebecca Taylor (love this Parker dress, too!) | Bag: Vintage (similar) | Lipstick: Charlotte Tilbury in ‘So Marilyn’ | Shoes: Topshop
Last night I attended the inaugural Chi Town Rising at the Hyatt Regency. I must admit, I didn’t spend much time outside, but the bands were rocking the stage when we arrived, fun NYE merch was being passed around, and the star was lit up in all it’s glory! I give a lot of credit to the people who partied outside the whole night though – it was freeeezing!
I’ll admit, I got a little spoiled in the VIP area. A warm room, open bar, delicious appetizers (snow crab!!), a DJ, and a photobooth – it was a pretty awesome way to celebrate, and that was before midnight! For the countdown, we all grabbed our coats and went out on the patio to look over the crowds by the stage and see the star rise while Chicago played… but honestly, the best part were the fireworks! They put on a gorgeous display, and even though I was in a pretty significant champagne haze by then – I couldn’t get over the beauty of it against Chicago’s gorgeous skyline. I’m constantly taken aback by how stunning this city is and how much it has offered me and enriched my life. It’s okay to be cheesy on New Year’s, right?!
Haha let’s move on to the dress now, shall we?! There are very few excuses to wear a knockout dress, and NYE is definitely one of them. When I pulled this sucker out of the back of my closet, I knew I couldn’t wear anything else. Plus, this Rebecca Taylor stunner only works for NYE and Bachelorette Parties… and every time I put in on, I’m ready to dance with a cocktail in hand.
Fun Fact: The only way to get through a freezing photoshoot is to (1) do it quickly and (2) laugh at yourself the whole time 🙂
Big thanks to Hyatt Gold Passport and Chi-Town Rising for sponsoring this post and treating me to such a wonderful New Year’s! And also, many thanks to the adorable Maya for snapping these photos (and dancing with me last night)!!
Pssst… you can still see some NYE shennanigans on snapchat 😉
