Cold Brew Iced Coffee Concentrate
I love love love iced coffee. It’s my favorite way to get my morning dose of caffeine, especially in the summer. So, when I discovered that you easily Cold Brew coffee at home, I knew I had to try it. This particular recipe is for a concentrate, so you will want to water it down, otherwise you will be bouncing off the walls! Keep reading to see how I like to drink it…
Ingredients
12 oz coarsely ground coffee beans
7 cups cold water
Pour the coffee grinds into a large container. Add the water and stir gently. Don’t over do it, just enough to get all of the grounds wet. Cover and let sit overnight at room temperature.
The next morning, uncover the container.
This next step can differ depending on what kitchen equipment you have. I had a pitcher, a strainer, and coffee filters. I put my strainer on top of my pitcher and ladled the soaked mixture over the coffee filter a little bit at a time.
The key here is to be patient. Don’t press the grinds down. Change the coffee filter if it gets too full. Yes… it does take a long time, but it’s totally worth it!
Once you have strained all of it, you should have your cold brew concentrate!
Yup, that’s iced coffee without even getting out of your PJs.
Like I said, this is concentrate, so you will need to water it down. My perfect combo is 1/2 cup concentrate with 1 cup water, a few ice cubes, and a little bit of milk.
And there you go! The perfect iced coffee at home!
