5 Things I Love Right Now: Food Edition
1. Daily Harvest
If you follow my insta-stories, you might have seen a few of these smoothies, so here’s the verdict: Daily Harvest is AWESOME. Basically, they’ve created pre-prepared, measured and frozen smoothie cups that are delivered right to your door. All you have to do is open the cup, add liquid (I like almond milk!), blend, and drink. How ridiculously easy is that?
Honestly, the biggest game changer for me is the flavor combos. I’m pretty good about stocking my freezer and blending smoothies up since I work from home most days… but I get so bored with the same combinations day after day. Luckily, these smoothies are inventive, nutritious, and most of them aren’t too sweet. Weekday win!
Want to try them?! Use the code LAKESHORELADY to get 3 smoothies for FREE! “Okay Lauren, that’s great, but which flavors do I get?!” Glad you asked! I’ve tried the Mint + Cacao, Banana + Greens, Carrot + Chia, Pineapple + Matcha, Blueberry + Hemp and Cold Brew + Almond. My favorites were definitely the Mint one and the Carrot one. If you’re ordering, you HAVE to get those! And because my followers are the bomb, I now know I need to try the Watermelon + Cucumber… add to cart ? Which ones are your faves?
2. Eating Evolved
I’ve been seeing bloggers like Rachel Mansfield and Shut The Kale Up rave about Eating Evolved products for SO LONG and last week I finally found them at Plum Market! You can see part of the Almond Sea Salt Bar sticking out my smoothie in the first picture, and the Coconut Butter Cups are above. These products are dairy free, gluten free, refined sugar free, paleo and vegan… and also delicious. I try very hard to limit my sugar, so these are amazing options for when I have a sweet craving. After all, they say “It’s Food, Not Candy.” ?
3. Buffalo Chicken Quinoa Salad
I wanted to make an easy dinner on Monday night, so I finally whipped up this Buffalo Chicken Quinoa Salad by Half Baked Harvest. Guys, this recipe is so freaking easy and SO delicious, even as leftovers! PS. It’s very similar to the Buffalo Chicken Bowl at Protein Bar, if that’s a favorite lunch of yours.
4. Susan G. Komen Mother’s Day Race
I love wearing pink, especially when it helps support the incredible Susan G. Komen Foundation and their upcoming Mother’s Day Race! If you’ve never heard of the foundation, it’s an amazing organization – in fact it’s the ONLY organization that addresses breast cancer in various ways, including research, community health, global outreach, and public policy initiatives. In addition, 75% of the funds raised for their upcoming race downtown stays within the Chicagoland area! So amazing. If you’ve ever been affected by breast cancer, I highly recommend you look into this event on May 14th. I’m not even a runner, but I’m considering signing up because I’ve heard that it’s such an inspiring and moving morning. Will you be running?
5) The Children’s Research Fund Fashion Show
Last Friday, I pretended to be a model for a charity event hosted by The Children’s Research Fund Junior Board at Perillo BMW. Along with the fashion show, the night was all about raising funds for childhood leukemia research at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital. I’ll get over my fear of walking a catwalk to help raise money for that cause ANY day.
Also, can we talk about this dress?? I feel so lucky that I got to showcase such an awesome piece… and now I think I need it for wedding season this summer. Major swoon!
And I know it’s only Wednesday, but I’m already thinking about the weekend because I’m heading to Arizona tomorrow!! Even though it’s a quick trip for a wedding, I’m really excited to get away and soak up some sunshine. I’d love to know if any of you have any Scottsdale recommendations! Leave a comment below or shoot me a message on Instagram if you have any favorites ?

These five things are pretty awesome! Those treats look so tempting and both of those dresses are killer. Loved your post with the pink dress. Have fun in Arizona! Scottsdale has become one of our favorite places on earth. We recommend squeezing in a hike! There are spots everywhere and you can easily take them at your own pace.
