The Best Dog Friendly Bars in Chicago
Hope you all had the best 4th of July! Since we were out and about all day on Wednesday, we had a very low key day yesterday. Luna was recovering from swimming, going to an outdoor concert, AND stopping by a party + I had some work to catch up on. But we had so much fun at our friend’s rehearsal dinner last night and we cannot WAIT for their wedding tonight! SO FUN!
Since everyone wants to celebrate outside this weekend, I figured this was the perfect time to round up the best dog friendly bars in Chicago! The list below has all of our favorite places/the bars on our radar – but if you scroll just past that, I’ve included recommendations from YOU! It’s always fun to get suggestions from people who live in different parts of the city (one of the reasons I love my Facebook group!), so hopefully this post has something for everyone! Let’s dive in!
The Best Dog Friendly Bars in Chicago
O’Donovans
We first discovered O’Donovans because of their beer garden, but their sidewalk patio is dog friendly and they always have water bowls ready. So great for lounging with the pup on beautiful days! | North Center (Pictured above!)
Paradise Park
I just added Paradise Park to my Best Patios roundup – and it’s such a bonus that you can bring your pup! Their other restaurants, Happy Camper and Homeslice are also dog friendly! | Wicker Park
Rinalli’s
Another great pizza option! We actually went to a rehearsal dinner at Rinalli’s on Thursday night and it was so much fun. Order a bunch of ‘zas and pitchers of beers and hang out on the patio for a few hours! | Lincoln Park
Cody’s Public House
Honestly, I don’t think I ever would have known Cody’s existed if our friends didn’t invite us there for a birthday party a few years ago. The outdoor patio honestly feels like you’re in someone’s backyard, which makes it perfect for low key day drinking festivities. | Lakeview
Dovetail Brewery
Most bars and restaurants have dog friendly patios, but you can bring your dogs INSIDE Dovetail Brewery! So on those really hot days when you need an AC break, your furry friends are welcome to cool off, too. Also, Begyle is close by and dog friendly too, so you can do a little brewery hopping! | Ravenswood
The Moonlighter
I still haven’t been here yet, but my friends say that the nachos are top notch and their big patio is dog friendly! | Logan Square
The Dock at Montrose Beach
Want a bite when you go to the beach? Tucker your pup out at the dog beach and then grab a bite at The Dock! Montrose Beach is SO pretty in the summer – and so much fun if you’re a dog lover. There are pups everywhere! | Uptown
Parlor Pizza Bar
We’re already established there’s nothing better than pizza and puppies, right? Parlor is perfect for day drinks or a fun dinner out. | West Loop
Bucktown Pub
This little neighborhood pub is low key, serves free popcorn, and has a cute little patio in the back! | Bucktown
Parson’s Chicken & Fish
Another favorite from my Best Patios post! Parson’s is such a staple for Chicago summers – where else can you play ping pong and get a negroni slushy with your dog?! | Logan Square and Lincoln Park
Uncommon Ground
I love Uncommon Ground and I just discovered their patio is dog friendly! I personally think their brunch is the best time to go – and then you also don’t have to sit around too many over-served Cubs fans 😉 | Wrigleyville
Big Star
The only thing that could compete with pizza and puppies is tacos and puppies, am I right?! Big Star is such a quintessential Chicago spot in the Summer, so I love that our pups can enjoy that patio life, too! | Wicker Park
Bang Bang Pie and Biscuits
Their Logan Square location has tons of picnic tables in the back, which makes it the perfect spot for an easy going brunch with your pup! Get the Avocado Biscuit and an Iced Coffee… it’s the BEST! | Logan Square
Saint Lou’s Assembly
This cute restaurant is a bit of a throwback – with an awesome outdoor patio to go with it. There’s a covered area with picnic tables, plus a full bar and bocce ball outside! Bring your pup and enjoy some of their frosé on a hot summer afternoon. | West Loop
The Promontory
I haven’t been here yet because it’s a bit of a hike for us, but I love the idea of taking Luna for a walk out to Promontory Point to soak in the skyline views and then walk over to The Promontory for lunch! The team behind Longman & Eagle and Thalia Hall created this restaurant/bar/concert hall, so you know the food/drink situation will be top notch. | Hyde Park
