I used to think that gifts ideas for parents and in-laws were the most requested, but I’ve been getting tons of questions asking for more affordable options. I usually just do a general guide with gift ideas under $50, but bosses and coworkers seem to be a hot topic this year, so there’s another collage below with ideas specifically for them, too!!
And, as always, you can scroll below those links for some additional info about some of my favorite ideas in this post. I hope it’s all helpful for you!

Games
Adam and I love a good game night, and if we’re the ones hosting, we’re probably playing Exploding Kittens and/or Chronology. Exploding Kittens is more for friends or family (some of the cards can be a little… inappropriate? 😂), but Chronology is a GREAT option as part of a gift guide for coworkers. Our friends brought it to Mexico over the summer and we bought it for ourselves as soon as we got home. Since then, we’ve gotten tons of other friends hooked on it. It’s great because it’s fun for history buffs… but you also don’t need to be into history to enjoy it.
Socks
Socks are always a funny gift idea because it seems lame… but if you get them good ones, it’s a great useful gift!! I usually say that if you’re shopping for men, go with Bombas. I’ve gotten them for my Dad multiple times and he’s always thrilled. You could also get them for women, but I love getting fun fuzzy socks like these or these around the holidays. Also, these cashmere socks are usually $80 but they’re on sale for 40% off right now, making them under $50. I own them and can confirm that they are LUXURIOUS. 10/10 recommend!
Absorbant Coasters
It seems funny to say that $10 coasters were one of my favorite purchases of 2021… but it’s TRUE! These absorbant coasters look far more expensive than they are, and like the name would suggest, they absorb any condensation that comes off of your drink. No more puddles or drips anywhere! This would be great for coworkers, teachers, Aunts/Uncles, Secret Santa, and more.
Affordable Skincare
I included Versed products on both of these collages because their products are seriously incredible, especially for the price. I personally love this $18 resurfacing mask the most. It reminds me of a MUCH more expensive one. Plus you can get 15% off + free shipping over $35 with my code LAKESHORELADY! I also like their cleansing balm, glow drops, and rich moisture cream – but don’t forget to check out their gift sets too!
Food Gifts
When in doubt, get them something they can EAT!!! Obviously, Williams Sonoma’s peppermint delicacies (the pretzels are the best!) will always be a great option for a gift guide for coworkers, but I have more ideas if you’ve been there/done that. First up – SPICES! There is a Spice House location in Chicago, but they have a ton of gift sets on sale on their website right now for up to 20% off!
Another Chicago favorite that you can order online is La Colombe. If they are a coffee lover, there’s literally no way they wouldn’t like their Greatest Hits Gift Box or Winter Favorites Gift Box.
Personalized Gifts
Mark & Graham is one of the BEST places to get gifts for bosses, coworkers, or other hard-to-buy-for people on your list. They have so many classy and unique options like accessory trays, an Airpods case, a faux leather pouch for travel, and more. You can shop my favorites on sale right now in this collage.
Kitchen/Lunch Break Accessories
While I’d avoid getting this tumbler for someone who is actually a problem, I *do* think it’s a hilarious gift for a self deprecating Swiftie in your life! That being said, if you’re worried about offending them, a regular Stanley Cup is another good option 😉
I don’t have this Wander Bowl yet, but based on everything else I own by Our Place, I’m willing to bet it’s an amazing gift for anyone who brings their lunch to work and/or just appreciates a good container for leftovers! I also love suggesting Stasher Bags because they’re not cheap but they are total game changers.
For the dog parents
Believe me when I say this – do not underestimate how much a dog parent will use a fanny pack 😂 When I got mine, I had no idea how much I would love it. It’s the perfect size for your phone/keys/earbuds, so you don’t have to worry about stuffing those things in your pockets. If they already have one of those, I just discovered this subtle Dog Mom hat and it is *chefs kiss*. Or if you want to get them something a little less subtle, find the cutest picture of their pup and get them a custom mug!
