Okay, I know – this looks like another post about fitness apparel. You’re not wrong… I’m obsessed with pretty much every aspect of this outfit ? But, in addition to talking about these items, I also need to introduce you to the best water bottle EVER.
I discovered Ello through a friend of mine, and I was honestly expecting just another typical one. I wasn’t even viewing that as a negative – I looove a good water bottle! I’ve tried pretty much all of the “trendy” ones and I admittedly have way too many in my apartment. But, as soon as I received their Riley water bottle, I knew I wanted to help promote it. Let me explain.
Yes, it’s another stainless steel bottle. Yes, it keeps your drinks cold/hot. But it you know how the bottom of most water bottles can get dirty with use? And no matter how many times you try to clean it, it’s dark down there and you can’t REALLY see if you did a good job? I mean, I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks about this! Needless to say, I was pumped when I realized that the bottom of this Riley Water Bottle unscrews so you can clean it. GAME CHANGER. And it’s dishwasher safe! I’m especially obsessed with this water bottle now, because I’ve recently realized how important it is to stay hydrated in the winter. At least for me, it’s so much easier to remember to drink water when it’s hot! If the weather is making me sweaty, I need water. DUH! But if the weather is making me hide under a blanket? Maybe not.
That being said, it’s actually just as important to stay hydrated in the winter as it is the summer.
Dehydration might be less noticeable, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen! Drinking water can also help our immune systems – which is key during this particularly awful flu season. When I had my cold a few weeks ago, I was drinking water and tea like it was my JOB!
I also did a little research and found out that our bodies need water to help maintain it’s temperature. This makes sense for summer – drink water and cool down, duh. But I’ve never thought about the fact that not drinking enough water could be one of the reasons why you can’t beat that winter chill.
Now that I know all of that, I’m trying to make hydration more of a daily priority – but it can be hard to remember when we’re busy! My tips? I fill up my Ello water bottle to the very top before a workout. Either during the class or right when I get home, I have to finish it. Since I’ve cut back at work, I’ve been able to work out more – and this “rule” makes a difference!
That full water bottle usually convinces me that I should keep going, so I then start filling up Ello’s tumbler with a straw. I know it’s such a simple thing to love, but in barely a week, it’s helped me drink so much more water every day. Whatever works, right?!
