A Clean Silk Shirt That’s Perfect for Petites
Introducing… The Everlane Silk Shirt You’re All Going To Fall In Love With!
Look #1
Clean Silk Shirt: c/o Everlane (Runs TTS, I’m wearing a size 0!) | Jeans: J Brand Alana (I’m wearing a slightly different wash, but this style is great for petites! They are ankle length normally, which means they’re the perfect regular length for short gals.) | Nail Polish: Essie – Model Clicks | Earrings: c/o VO Jewelry (Also, seen here last week!) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
Look #2
Clean Silk Shirt: c/o Everlane | Tights: Old Navy | Leather Skirt: c/o Cupcakes & Cashmere (I have a size 2 and it’s a little big around the waist, but otherwise it’s an awesome investment piece!) | Jacket: Gal Meets Glam (Mine is sold out, but I love this one, this one, and this one!) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
I don’t normally style things multiple ways here on the blog, mostly because I feel like most ways are really self explanatory. You guys are smart – you know you can wear a sweater with both jeans and skirts! DUH!
That being said, this shirt has totally impressed me with how versatile it is – especially for petites. If you’re also short, you know the struggle with button down tops. The shoulder seams are too wide, the arms are too long, the front and back dip down so low that it looks like you’re playing dress up, and then it looks bulky when you tuck it in… anyone else have this struggle before?!
But this silk top doesn’t have any of those issues. The sleeves are the perfect length and it’s short enough to wear untucked or with a little half tuck. SO NICE! It’s the perfect top for a casual meeting, girls night, or even a date night.
It’s also made from eco-conscious clean silk which is pretty awesome. Everlane uses safer dyes and more energy efficient production to reduce their environmental impact. Just another reason to love them!
And because we’re talking about versatility, I also love how nicely it tucks into skirts. When blouses are really long, it can bunch in weird ways when you tuck it in, but this lays nice and smooth! The sleeves are really cute rolled up, too. Wins all around!
Could any of you petite gals out there use a silk shirt like this?!
