1. Everlane Pocket Tee | 2. Hypervolt Massage Device (I got this for my birthday and it’s AMAZING!) | 3. Joroto Bike (This isn’t the exact same as the one we got, but it’s very similar. Equilibria Relief Cream (Adam asks for this CBD cream literally every night for his shoulders and back – it’s definitely not just for women!)
5. Bevel Shave System Starter Kit (Not only is this a great upgrade for your Dad or husband, but it’s also a great Black owned business to support!!) | 6. Photo Gallery Puzzle | 7. Lululemon Shorts | 8. History of the Chicago Bulls Newspaper Book (So fun if he loved The Last Dance!) | 9. Cold Brew Coffee Maker (I want this for ME!) | 10. Chris Collins cologne (Another Black owned business!) | 11. 25″ Cauldron Fire Pit | 12. Michael Jordan illustration | 13. Father’s Day Gift Guide 2020
Hey pals! This week has felt really fast and really slow at the same time… does anyone else feel that way? I think it’s because, in the midst of everything else going on, work feels harder and less important than usual. I keep telling myself that you can feel multiple things at once – I can feel sad/want to learn more about what’s happening in our country while also doing my job. It is possible to do both! I’m just still figuring out what that looks like at the moment. The writers block has been SO REAL.
That being said, a Father’s Day Gift Guide has been on my 2020 calendar for a while, and this one was really fun to put together. I realized that I really need to make an effort to seek out more Black owned business to feature here, and through google and roundups, I’ve found so many that I never knew about – including 2 in this post! The first is the chicest bottle of cologne by Chris Collins and the 2nd is a shave starter kit by Bevel – which is also available at Target! I know there are WAY more brands out there to feature, and I promise that this is just a start.
When it comes to Father’s Day gifts, or really any family gifts, I love getting everyone together to buy a bigger gift that you know they’ll love. In this case, that’s why I included a few more expensive items like a Hypervolt, an exercise bike, and a grill.
About Hypervolt
If you’ve never heard of the Hyperice Hypervolt, it is a massager that uses percussion therapy to help relieve muscle soreness and stiffness, improve circulation, and improve range of motion. My parents surprised me with this for my birthday, and Adam and I have been completely obsessed. It has relieved SO MUCH neck tension in particular. And I’ve found that it also helps me recover faster after hard workouts, too!
And speaking of workouts, obviously a Peloton would be the big ticket gift this year… but if you don’t want to spend $2500 on this holiday, there are less expensive options!!! This one is the most similar to ours and we love it. You can still stream Peloton classes through your TV, computer, or tablet – and the teachers are so much fun. If he’s not in any rush to get back to a public gym while coronavirus is still around, I highly recommend it.
Now don’t worry if you don’t have siblings or you’re just on more of a budget. I still have ideas! My whole family religiously watched The Last Dance last month – if your family was the same, get him this super cool Bulls Newspaper Book or this Michael Jordan illustration for his office!
Also, is he an iced coffee fan in the summer?
I just discovered this cold brew coffee maker a few days ago and it’s so cool that I want to buy myself one, too! ? In that same price range, you could also get him a puzzle with a photo of your family on it… I mean, is that a quarantine appropriate gift or WHAT?!
And lastly, this might seem like a left field gift, but Adam is so obsessed with my CBD Relief Cream by Equilibria that he asks me to rub it on his shoulders and back every single night. This is the PERFECT gift if your Dad or husband often complains about being sore or achey. Equilibria has also pledged to raise $100,000 to donate to the Black community and social justice platforms. The five organizations they have chosen are The Loveland Foundation, Black Girls CODE, Black Mama’s Matter, Okra Project, and The Last Prisoner Project. Use code LAKESHORELADY to get 15% off.
I hope you found some good ideas in here! What are you going to get for your Dad?
