Happy MARCH!! After sharing my purchases and bestsellers last month, I decided to keep this series going – so let’s talk about February! It may be the shortest month, but man, it felt like the longest. I think that’s pretty typical for Chicago though. February really does feel like the depths of winter, doesn’t it?! Woof. While that doesn’t translate to the most exciting shopping month of the year, I did find a few really great things that I know I’ll get a ton of use out of! It’s a good little mix of practical finds plus daydreaming about warmer weather and fun trips. Let’s dive in!
February 2022 Bestsellers + What I Bought Last Month
What I Bought in February 2022
You may recognize these jeans from my roundup of straight leg jeans for petites, especially since they were definitely my #1 recommendation! They are definitely pricey – which is why I held off on trying them for so long despite so many people raving about them. But needless to say, as soon as I put them on, I knew they weren’t going back. The denim is so high quality, the length is perfect for petites (I’m 5’2″), and I know I will get SO MUCH use out of them. Hello, cost per wear! I got a size 27 and they fit perfectly. (Shop more jeans by MOTHER here!)
I have a bunch of other moisturizers, so I put off buying this one again… but nothing else was keeping my skin hydrated enough so I finally had to give in and order it. It’s just the best for dry winter skin!
I’ve been out of setting powder for over a month and I remembered someone telling me that they liked this one. A little goes a long way and it does the job. No complaints so far!
Truthfully, I almost didn’t keep this pair because they are more than I typically spend on shorts… but I had some credit to use and I reminded myself how hard it is to find really great shorts that I feel good in. These have a great high rise, they aren’t too short in the bum, and the denim is easy and relaxed. I know I’ll be reaching for these alllll summer long. I got a size 27. (Shop more by Citizens of Humanity here!)
After falling in love with this set, I jumped at the chance to get another thermal top on sale this month. They’re the perfect crop length on me and I love that I can wear it out and about or lounging around. The sizes are selling out fast, so if you see yours, I highly recommend it! I got a small.
Of course, I had to get the matching thermal shorts on sale, too! I got a small in these and I love that they’re not too short.
I needed a new pair of sunglasses but didn’t want to spend a fortune – and I’m so happy with these! They’re only $16, but they look way more expensive.
Sooo I bought this coverup for our upcoming trip to Arizona, but now it looks like it’s going to be pretty chilly when we’re there. Woops! I still really like it though – it’s fun and different and will be so pretty in Positano this May and Mexico over the summer! This color is C-Beige.
I hesitated getting this for so long because I love my Nespresso frother SO MUCH. But then I realized that it would be so handy for mixing my Athletic Greens, protein powder (if I’m not blending it into a full blown smoothie), or matcha… and I was right! Plus it’s only $12! Woo!
Speaking of matcha, I decided to subscribe to Thrive Market again this month. I had cancelled it last year, but I’ve realized that it really is worth it for me to get staples like nuts, oils, grains, and other healthy favorites at a discount right to my door. I’ve been dealing with some gut and (what I think are) hormone issues recently, and after telling my sister-in-law about it, she told me about Shannon Dolan. I set up a complimentary call with her and she recommended signing up for her Gut Makeover Course and I’m so glad I did. It’s been super informative so far and I love that I’m already feeling a difference based on a few changes I’ve made. I’ll fill you in more once I complete it all!
Also, special shoutout to Rothy’s for gifting me these two new pairs of shoes – I love them SO MUCH already! You can also use code LAKESHORELADY20 for $20 off your first order of $100 or more!
I can already tell these are going to be my go-to sneakers this summer. First of all, they are sustainably made with a thread spun from 100% plastic bottles using a 3D knitting technology. They’re also EXTREMELY comfortable, a great versatile design (looks great with pants, shorts, and dresses!), and they’re machine washable!! I think Rothy’s tends to run small, so I sized up from my usual 6.5 to a 7.
I’ve been eyeing these flats for a while and I’m so glad I finally got them in this new camel color. It’s such a great neutral color! Like the sneakers, they’re also made from the same knit and machine washable. I also sized up to a size 7 in these.
