The layering tip that will transform your winter wardrobe

So… I told you this outfit would be different than the one I posted Tuesday evening! Instead of a classic brocade, this look is pushing the envelope just a littttle bit. I personally love a good deep v – you might remember this post from last year – but it’s not always the most practical choice. Not only is it a bit risque, but if you live in places like Chicago, it’s COLD out there! Going sleeveless and braless doesn’t always sound that appealing when it’s 20 degrees outside, am I right?
Luckily, my friend Ali (yes, from Alice & Wonder again!) introduced me to this layering turtleneck and my world CHANGED. Sure, you could always throw a cardigan over a sleeveless/plunging dress, but this metallic and sheer option still feels sexy and festive. Does a cardi do that? I don’t think so!
I also love that this little turtleneck trick isn’t limited to dresses. It totally transforms ANY sleeveless option in your wardrobe. Think plunging necklines, slip dresses, velvet camis and dresses – the possibilities are endless.
Also, doesn’t my friend Ali (from Those White Walls!) look cute in the pink version with a striped turtleneck? I don’t know if I ever would have thought style it that way before this shoot, but I love how the turtleneck grounds the spring-y pink color and makes it perfect for holidays. It makes each piece so much more versatile!
