July Updates (+ the best swing dress for summer)
Instead of simply talking about this affordable and comfy Free People swing dress today (even though I loooove it), I thought I’d fill you guys in on what’s going on this month! We may already be nearly halfway through July, which is crazy – but SO much is happening these next few weeks.
For starters, I need to pack up my one bedroom apartment because I’m moving in 2 weeks! That’s right, Adam and I are taking the leap and moving in together! WOO! While I’m extremely excited about taking this step in our relationship, it’s also very bittersweet. I’ll write more about this after the move, but I’ve lived in my current apartment for over 5 YEARS. It’s seen me through my single years, the growth of Lake Shore Lady, and a whole lot of growing up. Needless to say, the chaos of packing is probably going to come with a few emotions mixed in. Change is a tricky thing, isn’t it? (But at least it’s really great change, right? ?)
On top of that, I’ve also got a few fun events coming up!
I know I shouldn’t pick favorites, but I’m most excited about my trip with Jewel-Osco next week! You may remember that I mentioned it in a recent blog post featuring my Fattoush Salad recipe. Basically, I’ll be joining a bunch of other food bloggers to learn all about Jewel’s Open Nature products in Oakland, California. I’ve done trips with them before, and it’s always a blast – plus, I’ve never been to Northern California!
I’m also teaching my first yoga class in a LONG time at the end of the month, and I have a mix of nerves and excitement about it! I stopped teaching because work and LSL were just too much to manage, but things are shifting this Fall and I love the idea of trying to teach a little bit more again. More on that soon… stay tuned!

And in between all of the craziness, I’m vowing to spend as much time outside as my schedule allows. Even if it’s just a walk around the block or dinner al fresco. Summer always FLIES by, so I’m actively trying to soak up as much sunshine as I can. Last weekend, Adam and I took our books to Montrose Beach and it was the best way to relax for a few hours. So relaxing and calming!
What are you guys up to this month?
Let me know what’s going on in your lives, too! Lots of weddings? Family vacas? Or just soaking up summer in Chicago?
