How to Crush Your Next Game Night
Any game night fans out there?! Don’t get me wrong, I love going out on the town – but I’ve also always been fond of nights in with friends. Not only does it save money, but it’s nice to be somewhere comfortable! I also love that you can control how loud it is… sometimes yelling just to hear each other at a bar is exhausting. Do I sound old saying these things? ?
Honestly, I think people sometimes forget that this option can be just as fun as going out! Staying in can sound a little boring… but it doesn’t have to be! So, I’ve partnered with my pals at The Crusher Wines to give you my 5 tips to help you crush your next game night. Let’s dive in!
How to Crush Your Next Game Night:
1. Get plenty of good wine.
This is key! And no, that doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune. My new go-to? The Crusher Wines! You would seriously never guess that all of their varietals are under $20. I’ve loved every single one I’ve tried! And I am NOT a Chardonnay lover and their Unoaked Chardonnay is like butter. In fact, that’s what I drank last weekend at Angry Crab! So good.
I also think the company as a whole is really awesome. It’s named after the moment in winemaking when the grapes first get crushed, because that starts their journey to becoming wine. Because of this, their motto revolves around celebrating all journeys towards achievement. So every time you open a bottle to celebrate conquering a goal, you can be sure their whole team is cheering for ya!
But back to game night! I like to make sure that I have both red and white options, and put the white in the fridge that morning to chill!
2. Wear something cute, but comfortable.
Listen, I get it. If you’re hosting a party, you want to wear something cute. OBVIOUSLY I understand that! But adding comfort into the mix is so important for nights like this. You want to be able to sit on the floor and chill out without fussing with your outfit all the time! That’s why I’m so excited that I added this chambray jumpsuit to my closet just in time for Spring and Summer! It looks super put together, but it feels like PJs! Game night win!
3. Play a fun game.
I know Scrabble and LIFE are classics, but when you have a group of friends over – the funnier the better! My personal favorite is What Do You Meme? It cracks me up every time, no matter who we’re playing it with!
For those of you who don’t know what it is, the goal is create the funniest memes. One person draws a photo card, and then everyone else pairs it with one of their caption cards that makes the most sense (or doesn’t ?). The person who drew the photo card reads everyones submissions and picks the funniest one! Guys. It’s the best. That being said, Cards Against Humanity, Apples to Apples and Exploding Kittens are always fun, too!
4. Stay out of the kitchen.
I love preparing food for my friends, but nights like this are all about relaxing and staying present. If you can prep everything before your guests arrive, that’s fair game. Otherwise, just make some popcorn or ask your friends to bring some snacks. Make it easy and pour yourself a glass of wine!
5. Create a playlist.
A silent room doesn’t really scream “party” – even if it is supposed to be low key! So, get on Spotify, put some tunes together, and let it play all night! You could even use this as an opportunity to sneak in a few throwback jams. BSB for life, am I right?
