A Healthy Twist on a Lazy Sunday with Home Chef
You guys know I love to cook. I’m not going to deny that – I love my time in the kitchen! That being said, I have lazy moments, just like everyone else. The idea of take out can sound quite nice, especially when I’ve been testing and shooting recipes all week. But instead of giving in to greasy Chinese food, there’s a new option in town! Mariano’s just started carrying Home Chef meals in store… and they’re easy, delicious, and just the right amount of food for 2 people. Such a win!
I swung by the Mariano’s in Ravenswood to check out their selection, and ran into Jen from Red Soles and Red Wine cooking up some sirloin. I don’t eat beef, so I couldn’t taste test… but I did get excited about some of the other options they had. And four new meals are released every week, so there will always be something for everyone!
Our Healthy Twist on a Lazy Sunday
I ended up getting a box of the One-Sheet Pretzel-Crusted Chicken for Adam and I to make last Sunday while the Bears played. Like I said, ordering delivery can be so temping on the weekends – as is eating unhealthy. But when eating a nutritious meal is this easy and delicious, why resist it?! I mean, all we needed was a cutting board, a few bowls, and one sheet pan – I think we can handle that!
PS. How cute is my new Bears tee? Adam is pretty excited that I can finally participate in a little Bears pride with him ?
I especially like these meals because it’s something Adam and I can do together. I’ll be the first to admit that I sometimes prefer to handle everything myself because I know what I’m doing (woops!). But these recipes are new to both of us, and the step-by-step instructions make it easy to divide and conquer.
Basically, if you’re having a super busy week, Home Chef is a great way to quickly get food on the table. But on the other side of the spectrum, making one of these meals ensures you get off the couch for at least 30 minutes on a low key Sunday! Hey, lazy weekends happen! I’m not judging ?
If you’re not sure which meal to get at Mariano’s, look for this One Sheet Pretzel-Crusted Chicken! Clean plate club all around!
