How to Make a Matcha Latte (with just a blender!)
Good morning, friends! Besides Mindful Monday, I apologize for being a little MIA on the blog this week. If you were following me on Instagram, you know that I flew out to Napa to learn all about prunes for a few days! I know, you might think that’s random – but by now you’ve probably picked up that I love nerding out about food, and I cannot WAIT to tell you all about everything I learned! But first…
How to Make a Matcha Latte
Matcha is a really trendy thing right now. You may love it, you may have tried it once and aren’t sure about it, or may have just heard the word and have NO IDEA what it is ?And to be honest, this post is for all of those categories! When I first started hearing about it, I ordered an Iced Matcha Latte at Starbucks and hated it. Then I realized that it’s important to get good quality matcha. Once I tried that at placed like Beatrix, Limitless, and Sawada, I understood the fuss. Not only are there tons of health benefits, but the flavor is mild and a little sweet, especially paired with a creamy milk.
But at nearly $5 a pop, I knew I couldn’t take myself out for a matcha every single time I craved it. So… I figured out how to make it at home! Now before you watch the video again or read the recipe, I have something to admit. I’m not sure a traditionalist would approve of these instructions on how to make a matcha latte. Actually, I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t! Matcha is supposed to be dissolved with a fancy whisk – and a frother would obviously do more to the milk than my method. That being said, I’ve loved making mine this way because it’s delicious and SO EASY.
In terms of what matcha to get, I love Vital Proteins Matcha because you also get collagen in it. Two in one! If you’re not sure what collagen is, you can read my whole comprehensive blog post about it here.
