Southwest Turkey Burgers [Video]
Some people ask me how I survive without red meat. Don’t you miss steak? Don’t you miss BURGERS?! Well, my friends – why would I miss burgers if amazingly flavorful Turkey Burgers like this one exists?! Learn how to make it below:
PS. They kept a funny blooper in there just in case you were wondering if we have any fun on set 🙂
Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey breast
1 shallot
2 large garlic cloves
1 jalapeno pepper, seeds removed
1 red pepper
1/2 cup cilantro leaves
1 tsp cumin
1tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
olive oil
*eat this without the bun to make it paleo!
Using a food processor combine shallot, garlic, peppers and cilantro. Pulse until the pieces are minced, but not mushy.
Add the ground turkey and minced vegetables to a large mixing bowl. Add salt, pepper, cumin and chili powder. Mix well with your hands. Separate the turkey mixture into four evenly sized patties.
Add olive oil to a hot pan if you are cooking on the stove, or drizzle each patty with a little bit of olive oil if you are a grilling.
Cook on medium high heat for about 6-8 minutes per side. Make sure the burger is cooked through.
Serve hot with your favorite condiments – we used guac, tomato and lettuce! You can also serve it on a bed of lettuce for a super healthy dinner.
Enjoy!
