How To Style A Tweed Jacket (so you don’t look like a Grandma)
Tweed Jacket: Gal Meets Glam (Runs TTS! I’m wearing a size 0 and it fits perfectly, although you can’t layer much underneath.) | Tank: Loft (a bodysuit would also work great with this outfit!) | Jeans: Madewell (ON SALE! Runs TTS – I’m wearing a 26 petite. Great for anyone who has trouble finding high rise jeans that fit a small waist and bigger hips!)| sunglasses | Lipstick: Bobbi Brown (Color: Burnt Cherry) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (love this chevron pattern, too!) | Boots: Splendid (Loooove the slouchy fit and block heel on this boot! Super walkabout and runs TTS.) |
Hey friends! I’m pretty sure we’re ALL a little distracted since there’s only one more day until vacation starts. How could we not be, right?! Needless to say, I’m happy to be your go-to website while you “look like you’re working while not really working” today and tomorrow. Haha I won’t tell, I promise ?
While tomorrow’s post is going to be all about New Year’s Eve looks, this one is a little bit more tame. If I’m being honest, I used to think a tweed jacket like this one was only meant for Grandmas and Queen Elizabeth, but Gal Meets Glam has totally changed my mind.
First of all, the cropped length makes it super versatile for dresses, skirts, or pants. There are also some metallic details in there to make it more fun. And who doesn’t love a good velvet bow?! I mean, COME ON. SO CUTE.
My Favorite Way To Style It
I personally like this jacket with high waisted jeans the best. For me, a pair of jeans add a little bit of edge, instead of staying totally preppy. In terms of shoes, you could wear sleek pumps, but the boots felt more modern. Plus, they’re more practical for chilly Chicago!
Add a classic black leather bag and a dark red lip, and you’re definitely not styling it the same way as the Queen! I’d wear this look to anything from a meeting to a party with friends, or even a family event. Just swap out the jewelry, shoes, and lip color if you feel the need to!
Would you wear a tweed jacket?
