Floral Shorts: J.Crew last year, but Factory has this similar floral pair! Also, here is this year’s version from J.Crew (love the polka dots too!) | Tank: In love with this Amanda Uprichard cami this year! | Cardigan: Loft | Bag: J.Crew | Sunglasses: Loft | Earrings: c/o Monica Vinader | Necklace: Vrai & Oro | Bracelet: c/o Monica Vinader | Shoes: J. Crew
I first saw these shorts in pink on Gal Meets Glam and added them to my cart right away, but I didn’t pull the trigger until I saw them again on my friend Jenn Lake. Two of my faves have em?! I had to at least try them. My size was sold out in the pink, so I tried both the floral and chambray versions, in case the print was too loud. If you follow my insta-stories, I really wasn’t sure at first… mostly because I couldn’t figure out how to tie the bow! But once I fiddled with it, I realized there was NO WAY I was leaving the store without them.
As you guys already know, I love anything that accentuates my waist. I swear, it’s the key to petite styling!! Cinching these suckers in at my waist automatically draws your eye to the smallest part of my body AND makes my legs look longer. I’ll take that optical illusion any day ? Petite ladies – do you find that works for you, too?
Now that I’ve worn these a few times, I’m so glad I figured out the silly bow and added them to my wardrobe. They feel extra festive and a little dressy compared to all of the other shorts I own. For example, I could wear these floral shorts with a cotton tank and flat sandals to brunch, or I could wear them as pictured to dinner or a rooftop party. So versatile and summery!
Ps. They also have a pineapple print now! Eeee! Self control, Lauren. Self control.
I have to apologize though, because this exact tank isn’t available anymore! I knew that before we shot, but they matched these floral shorts SO perfectly, I had to shoot em together! I snagged this one at the Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale in Chicago for $20 – such a steal right?!
What do you guys think about the J.Crew Tie Waist Shorts? Would you wear a print or stick with solid?
