Tis the season for gift giving, but we all know that not everyone on your list fits into one of my (or any other blogger’s ?) gift guide roundups. What do you get for your coworker, or a Secret Santa you don’t know at all, or your kid’s teacher? Or what do you get the couple that literally has everything already? Trust me, I’ve tried to find as many options for you guys as possible, and I still know I don’t cover every type of person on your lists.
Enter: A Holiday Gift Basket
Think about it. You could get them a scarf that they’ll never wear, or you can get them something that they can consume. Kind of brilliant, right?! That being said, I think the best part about this gift is the fact that it encourages a cozy night in. Especially this time of year! Giving them the ingredients for an amazing pasta dish, followed by a warm mug of decaf coffee, and chocolate truffles also gives them a reason to slow down and have a lovely night at home.
But obviously, you can’t just fill the basket with any food. They have to be special high quality products, which is exactly what Signature RESERVETM is all about. For example, their pasta sauces are made in Torino, Italy using a traditional slow stirring technique with layered ingredients to bring out the best texture and complex flavors. I want to try all 5 sauces that they make – but I’m dying to try the Tomato, Porcini and Black Truffle sauce. I mean… what?! How incredible does that sound?!
The best part is that you can find all of these products exclusively at your local Jewel-Osco for an incredible value!
That’s right, you can get the ingredients for an amazing gift basket while you do your normal grocery shopping. Hello, convenience! If you don’t live near a Jewel-Osco, you can also find them at all of the Alberstons Companies stores (Albertsons, Safeway, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, and Carrs/Safeway).
Since all of the Signature RESERVE products are incredible, the shopping part of this gift is very easy. But putting the actual basket together can be a little bit harder! I always try to add a little bit of height when I can. It makes it look a little bit more interesting, and you can see what everything is! You could definitely stuff some tissue paper in the bottom to do this, but since I was putting 2 boxes of caramels in anyway, I used one of those!
It takes a little maneuvering, but I think it makes a big difference. Also, it’s okay that this box of caramels is hidden, since I included another one anyway. And trust me, they will NOT be mad at two boxes of these. Adam and I are obsessed with the dark chocolate caramels. The flavor is super rich and the sea salt flakes on top take it to the next level. SO good!
For this basket, I ended up including 2 different pasta sauces, a bag of coffee, 2 boxes of caramels, and french chocolate truffles. If you have a bigger basket, you could also add a pound of Signature RESERVE bucatini, too. Don’t you want an invite to this pasta and chocolate filled cozy night now?! Yum yum yum!
Oh, and if you want to spruce it up a little, don’t be afraid to add some holiday details. That being said, you really don’t need much since all of the packaging on these products is so sleek!
After that, all you have to do is wrap it up in cellophane and secure it with a bow! Don’t forget to curl the ribbon for a nice extra touch!
Have you ever made a holiday gift basket?
What would you put in yours? Also, have you seen Signature RESERVE products at your local Jewel-Osco yet? What have you tried? I promise to do some insta-stories when I finally test out that porcini and truffle tomato sauce ?
