July Fitness Recap (+ Free 2019 Workout Planner)
*Outfit details can be found in this post!
Happy August! After a few months of lackluster fitness recaps, I finally feel like I’m back on track! I always feel better when I can fit at least 4 workouts in a week, and even though some weeks were a little more and some were a little less – this month evened out at 16 workouts again. Feels GOOD.
While each one wasn’t as tough as it could be, I’m still proud of myself for clearing time to move my body, after letting excuses like work and Luna get in the way for a bit there. It’s also been motivating me to find more ways to easily incorporate fitness into my everyday routine, instead of just scheduling classes. My new goal? Jog with Luna in the mornings! As you guys know, I’m not interested in being a hard core runner, but I think my treadmill intervals have prepped me for a sensible mile/mile and a half jog with her to start each day, right?! I even bought a fanny pack and running shorts as a way of holding myself accountable. I spent money on this, now I have to at least try it!
July Fitness Recap
July Goals
I wanted to use my workout planner more – and I did! While I certainly could have pushed myself more, I’m glad I did little things to prioritize my health again!
July Obstacles
I feel bad blaming Luna for my lack of commitment to fitness, but she got spayed this month and I felt bad putting her in her crate with her cone on if I didn’t need to! (I know she’s a dog, but still ?) Besides that, work got a little stressful when I realized I couldn’t work with someone who has been helping me out a TON anymore. Oh, and I took three and a half days off to see friends and family this past weekend that included a fair amount of New York pizza and absolutely no exercise. But SO worth it!
# of workouts completed:
16! I haven’t hit that number since I was in a groove of over 20 workouts a month in January, February, and March. Like I said, feels GOOD!
lincoln square athletic club
I still really love having this gym membership. Bodypump is my favorite class on their schedule, but I also went to a great yoga class this month! It had a ton of stretching which felt amazing after a stressful week. And of course, it’s great for the treadmill intervals I like to do for cardio + a Froyo To Fitness circuit with weights!
club pilates
Okay, you know how I always rave about Linda’s Level 2 class? Well, I tried Rebecca’s Level 2 this month and it was SO. GOOD. She did so many different exercises that I’ve never seen before and I definitely felt it the next day. I’m so excited that they both teach it now!
at home workouts
I discovered this 25 minute Tone It Up video this month and it’s SO great for busy days! Definitely my new favorite at home workout.
studio three
Unfortunately I didn’t make it Studio Three at all in July – but that doesn’t mean I still don’t love it! I just scheduled more workouts close to home so I’d actually be able to fit them in, even if my to-do list got really packed. I’m going to 3×3 on Monday though, and I’m hoping that gets me back in the groove!
PS. I have a code to get your first class at Studio Three for free, but they don’t want me to post it here. Just DM me on Instagram if you’d like it!

August Goals
I kind of already told you – but I want to run (okay, jog ?) with Luna in the mornings! Even if it’s just a few days a week, I think it would be a great way to get some of her energy out, while also squeezing in some extra cardio for me. I’ll keep you updated!
What are your goals for August?!
