June Fitness Recap (+ FREE 2019 Workout Planner)
Happy JULY?!?! I’m so confused. Didn’t summer JUST get here?! I literally gasped when I got the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale catalog in the mail this week because I couldn’t believe it. What’s going on? Where am I?!?!
Anyway, we’re officially halfway through the year which means this is the perfect time to get real with those questions in my workout planner. What do you like about yourself? What can you improve? How can you better take care of yourself?
I’m realizing that while I need to work to quiet the critic in me (something I’m always working on), I can also re-prioritize what makes me feel confident and strong. Luna and work and social plans don’t need to continue to throw my workout schedule off, so I shouldn’t let it! I’m also considering getting a few personal trainer sessions to help me get excited about solo workouts again… but I’ll get to that below. Let’s dive in!
June Goals
I wanted to get back in a good workout groove, and even though the beginning of this month wasn’t stellar, the end has really picked up steam!
June Obstacles
Honestly, this was a tough month work-wise. I had a lot of tight deadlines that were followed by late approvals… and when sponsored posts are pushed too close together, I feel like I need to create MORE unsponsored content to balance it out… (I elaborate on this a little bit in this post). Other than that, Adam left for a week to volunteer at a camp for foster kids (such a jerk, right?!), so that week was a little tough with all of the Luna responsibilities on me.
# of workouts completed:
14 workouts completed. Not great, but certainly not bad! Especially when you factor in a LOT of walks with Luna š
studio three
Still obsessed with Studio Three – I just wish it was closer to me! I’m dying for a studio like this within walking distance. That’s the ONLY thing I don’t like about my neighborhood! 3×3 and Hi Def are still my favorites, but let me know if you have any questions about their classes. They’re ALL good!
PS. I have a code to get your first class at Studio Three for free, but they donāt want me to post it here. Just DM me on Instagram if youād like it!
Lincoln Square Athletic Club
I got myself to the gym more this month just to do my own thing – something I was doing a LOT at the beginning of the year. I usually do treadmill intervals for cardio and then a Froyo To Fitness circuit with weights.
Also now that I’ve picked out my wedding dress (!!), I kind of want to try a few personal training sessions. I’ve never done one before, but I think it could be helpful to help me learn new things that I can do myself. Not a crazy amount, but since I’m still such a class girl at heart, it would be nice to get some inspiration for solo workouts. Have any of you done this before? What was your experience??
club pilates
I actually took a class here that I really didn’t like this month… which just goes to show that it’s ALL about the teacher! You can’t go wrong with Linda (my FAVE!) and Rebecca if you come up to the North Center location though!
at home workouts
As I mentioned, Froyo To Fitness circuits are the best at the gym, but so many of them are amazing for an at home workout. I also rediscovered some older Tone It Up workouts this month with a booty band. So great for busy days!

July Goals
Use my own damn workout planner more! ? Also, I want to put myself first by prioritizing workouts (and sleep!) again – and let go of any guilt around doing that.
What are your goals for July?!

Have you considered signing up for a race or event of some type? Maybe training for something in particular could help shape your fitness routine!

I’ve considered it! I just HATE running haha I don’t like the way it makes my body feel, running outside tends to hurt my shins, and I’d like exercise to be something I really enjoy instead of punishment, you know? Especially since I really enjoy SO many other workouts – it’s just hard to get there now that I’m a train ride away from most of them. I’m starting to really enjoy weight training though, so I think a little more guidance on that could really help me commit to that more!
