For those of you who have been following me a long time, you might recognize this post! I actually published this back in 2017, but I’m bringing it back today for a few reasons. #1) This dress is still available. And #2) Snowball Chicago is happening again on January 18th, 2020!
Back in 2017, I featured a sequin cocktail dress and a a ballgown option– but this one is still my favorite. The one shoulder neckline, cutout and high slit make this far from ordinary – but it still feels classy and polished. As women, we tend to shy away from admitting when we feel beautiful or sexy… but doesn’t it feel SO GOOD when you unapologetically feel like a knock out?!
Wait, what is Snowball?
As if the dress wasn’t special enough, Julie and I decided to take these photos on the steps of The Field Museum… where Snowball Chicago is taking place! If you’ve never heard of Snowball, it’s an annual black tie gala hosted by The Junior Council, an affiliated organization of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. Your ticket includes entry, open bar, access to the auctions, tastings from more than 20 of Chicago’s best restaurants, and our favorites – ROD TUFFCURLS!. Want in? Mark your calendar for January 18th from 8pm-1am at The Field Museum!
As I mentioned, I went back in 2017, and was blown away at what an incredible event it is. Think lots of champagne, endless amounts of incredible bites from your favorite restaurants, and dancing next to dinosaurs. Yeah, it’s the best. And with each ticket sold, you will help The Junior Council reach their goal of raising $275,000+ for Lurie’s Children’s Hospital. A fun night for an extremely worthy cause.
Plus it’s such a fun excuse to dress up! For this gown, I decided to stick with a gold and black theme – mostly because of this amazing clutch by DVF! The whole thing is covered in sequins, so if you brush your hand one way, you’ll see more gold. But if you brush it the other way, you’ll see more black. I’m obsessed! It paired perfectly with this bracelet by Elizabeth and James and these sparkly Alexis Bittar earrings. So glamorous, right?!
