My LAKE Pajamas Review + the best styles!
My LAKE Pajamas review including details about the brand, sizing insights, inseam lengths, and sale info!
I’ve been a fan of LAKE Pajamas for a long time now – I actually realized that I wrote a quick little post about my first pair back in 2016! Since then, their pajamas and robes have been one of my go-to gifts. I’ve turned my Mom into a superfan, and my girlfriends and I have even pooled together to get multiple of our expecting friends their robes as a postpartum gift.
And of course, I have acquired quite a collection of my own over the years, too. I’ve come to realize that they are WAY better than a bunch of old t-shirts or low quality sale finds that fall apart after a season. Plus, they’re CUTE!
Since I know that their pajamas aren’t the most affordable, I thought now would be a good time to write a LAKE Pajamas Review since their Annual Sale is happening RIGHT NOW! This means you can get up to 50% off select styles!! So, to help you figure out what to order and what sizes to get, keep reading to learn all about the brand, the fabrics they use, my favorite styles, sizing insights, inseam lengths, and more!
About LAKE Pajamas
LAKE Pajamas was founded in 2014 by longtime friends Cassandra Cannon and Anne Read Lattimore. They were having a hard time finding classic pajamas that were stylish and comfortable, so they founded LAKE and set out to do it themselves.
Since then, they have become a huge success – winning over so many people with their unbelievably soft pajamas made from 100% Peruvian Pima Cotton. They now offer pajamas for women, men, and children, and you can shop online or at their stores in Atlanta and Charleston.
Are they good quality?
Without a doubt, yes. As I mentioned, the majority of LAKE pajamas are made with 100% Peruvian Pima Cotton. Pima cotton is incredibly soft – it feels so luxurious and smooth and will continue to feel that way even wash after wash.
While the softness isn’t affected by washing, please keep in mind that because these are 100% cotton, they will shrink in your first wash. If you are debating between 2 sizes, I’d go with the larger one to account for this.
Besides that one little quirk, I love that this cotton is ideal for sleeping because it is breathable which will help avoid overheating. Yet somehow, these pajamas are also thick and substantial. They aren’t see-through or flimsy at all. I mean, both cozy AND breathable? Isn’t that the dream when it comes to pajamas?
Are LAKE Pajamas worth it?
If you’ve ever messaged me “are they worth it?”, you know that I hate answering that question in regards to any brand or product. “Worth it” will always mean different things to different people depending on budgets, preferences, what’s already in your closet, etc.
That being said, if all of your pajamas look old and ratty and you’ve been wanting to upgrade that part of your closet, I can confirm that LAKE pajamas last for YEARS. That pair from 2016 I told you about? They’re still in excellent condition! Everything is so high quality that you’ll have them for YEARS. And if you can also sang them on sale? That’s worth it for me.
Lake Pajamas Review and Sizing
For reference, I am 5’2″! I typically wear an XS or Small in tops and a size 27 in jeans. Hope that helps!
Pima Short Robe (on sale in 1 color!)
Remember how I mentioned my friends and I would pitch in together to get a robe for the expecting Mamas in our life? Well, I finally got my own and I can now confirm that it’s just as lovely as everyone has said they are!
I got the Pima Short Robe and this length is PERFECT for me. It’s also probably no surprise that I love this sweet floral print – but if that’s not your thing, it also comes in stripes. I got a size small and I’d say it definitely runs true to size. Also the Pima Robe (which is what my friends all have!) is just a little longer and on sale in 18 COLORS. Go go go!
Pima Long-Long Set (on sale in 6 colors!)
When it comes to classic LAKE sets, this Pima Long-Long Set is a great place to start. I have on last year’s holiday set above, but it comes in a bunch of colors/stripes year round, along with a few other fun prints. I have on a regular size small here and I think it runs true to size. Originally the pants were pretty long on me because I’m short, but washing them brought the hem up just slightly.
That being said, a few of the colors come in 3 different inseam: cropped, regular, and tall! The cropped inseam length is 26″ which is ideal for petites like me. The regular inseam is 29″ and the tall inseam is 32″.
Relax Pants Set (on sale in 2 colors!)
If you’re looking one for one step cozier than the long-long set, this relax set is IT. Instead of the usual 100% Peruvian Pima Cotton, this set is made out of 95% modal and 5% spandex. It’s thick and warm and truly so cozy.
The sweatshirt is definitely more oversized than the usual pajama tops. I got a size small and it’s still quite slouchy. The pants are also more of a wide-leg and they are slightly cropped (25.25″ inseam!), which works to my advantage!
Relax Shorts Set (on sale in 3 colors!)
If you like the idea of a cozy relax set but you think you’ll be too warm in pants, the Relax Shorts Set is also SO GOOD. I got this before the pants set, so I sized up to a medium to be safe – but I would have been fine in a size small. I’m going to order this in teal for myself because $55 is a STEAL!!!
Pima Long-Short Weekend Set (on sale in 6 colors!)
This long-short set is like the lighter sibling of the last set. This is made from that classic 100% Peruvian Pima Cotton instead of the modal/spandex mix so it’s more lightweight and fits a little slimmer. I have a size small in this and it runs true to size.
Pima Shorts Set (on sale in 9 colors!)
Oh how I love this set!! I first got it in pink stripes and it’s definitely not surprising that I also LOVE this pretty blue print – which is on sale on a few other items, too! I know it’s cold in Chicago, so you. might not be reaching for shorts sets right now, but this is probably my all time favorite style by LAKE. I have a size small and it runs true to size but size up if you prefer longer shorts. They’re so soft and cozy and lightweight. The best!
Pima Ruffle Nightgown (on sale in 2 colors)
Okay truthfully, I always thought that I was too short for this nightgown – but now that I own it, I love it SO MUCH. It’s so soft, the straps are adjustable, and it couldn’t be more comfortable. Also, the easy fit means that it would be PERFECT to wear throughout a pregnancy. I got a size small and I definitely could have gotten an XS.
Pima Tank-Short Set (on sale in 5 colors!)
If you’re a less is more kind of sleeper, this tank set is a good one for you! The sleeveless scoopneck top is really breezy and the shorts have an elastic waistband and 3″ inseam. I got a size small, and again, I’d say it’s true to size unless you want to size up for a little more room/length in the shorts. Also the color combo that I have is called “Spritz” and it’s so cute in person. It’s also marked all the way down to $44!
Pima Short-Long Weekend Set (on sale in 4 colors)
It wouldn’t be a complete LAKE Pajamas review if I didn’t call out a flaw, right? Flaws are hard to find, but this is definitely the least petite-friendly pair that I own. They have a 29″ inseam and they don’t come in a cropped length. As I mentioned, 100% cotton will shrink, so they have come up a little bit – but I think I just like having a cropped length or the curved hem of the Pima Short-Long Set better.
I got a size small and wish I had a medium in a cropped length – but that doesn’t exist 😂 Moral of the story: great pair if you’re taller than me. If you’re around my height, I’d get one of my other pairs instead!
