Luna’s Favorite Things
It’s no secret that our little Luna has the best life ever. We were obsessed with her from the first day we laid eyes on her, and she pretty much wants for nothing… except maybe more treats. But that’s just because she always wants more treats 😂 She has definitely been a rambunctious and vocal puppy (that’s the beagle in her!), but she’s also incredibly sweet and snuggly. Seriously, no one loves a nap as much as Luna. #napgoals for SURE.
Of course, getting a puppy requires a lot of trial and error with products – but I thought it would be fun to put together a post of her favorite toys and treats that have helped us with training, separation anxiety, playtime and more. Every dog is different, but if your pup is anything like our gal, they might love these items too!
Luna’s Favorite Things
Kong Toys
Let’s start with a brand that literally every dog owner loves – KONG! We especially love their toys because they’re really durable. Seriously, they last far longer than any other toys we’ve ever purchased. They also have a few varieties that allow you to hide treats inside of them, which is both physically and mentally stimulating for dogs! Luna’s favorites are the Stuff-A-Ball Toy, their Classic Toy, the Goodie Bone, and the Squeezz Dumbbell Toy.
Benebones
One day, we brought Luna out to my parent’s house and she became OBSESSED with this really sturdy bone that my parent’s got for their dog. I immediately asked them where I can find them… and now Benebones are one of Luna’s great loves! To give you a little backstory, Luna is a CHEWER. Luckily we trained her not to chew our shoes or furniture – but if you give her a toy, she will go to town.
Benebones are made from super strong nylon and food-grade bacon, peanuts, chicken, and maple wood. They don’t use any chemicals or artificial flavors either. We are big fans! (Just be sure to keep an eye on them when they chew these and take it away if they wear it down too much.)
Dragon Toys
When we first brought Luna home, Adam found this adorable dragon toy… and she loved it so much that we bought her, umm, a lot more. They sell them on Amazon, Petco, and Chewy, so we would usually cave when any one of those had a sale. We haven’t purchased them much for her recently because her adult teeth tear them apart pretty fast – but she’ll always be our Mother of Dragons!!
Skinny Peltz
We got these toys for Luna for Christmas and they were the biggest hit! They also last WAY longer than the dragon toys because there isn’t any stuffing inside. We always have to throw other toys out immediately once any seals are broken/stuffing starts to show so she doesn’t eat it – but these are super durable and still have a squeaker inside to keep her entertained. They’re great!
Dog Bed
Before we got this dog bed, Luna was only interested in sleeping in our bed with us and napping on the couch. But this $40 bed was worth every penny. Very often, she’ll choose this over her other options, and I think it’s really cute when she hoards all of her toys on top – and STILL naps there. Highly recommend!
Treats
While I’m pretty sure most dogs love any and all treats, we’ve definitely found a few favorites. Kong treats are made specifically for a lot of their toys, which makes play time really easy. She also goes CRAZY for Aldi’s Bacon Flavored Curls. And recently, Shameless Pets’s Chick’n Colada Jerky has been a big hit – and they’re made with upcycled and responsibly sourced ingredients which is so cool!
Fun Feeder Bowl
When we first got Luna, she had a few digestive issues. We figured out a food that works for her, but she would still throw up from time to time… and we realized that it’s because she was INHALING her food! Our vet suggested getting this fun feeder bowl, and she loves it. It’s like a fun game for her, but it also slows down her eating so that she can digest it all more efficiently. The best purchase ever!

love this post, thank you! Our golden loves these ridiculous raccoon toys you can only get at Petsmart…they have like…a dodgeball type ball inside the skin. It’s super easy to swat the toy out of his mouth, or if he holds the tail, you can swat the ball like a tetherball. It’s so ridiculous and he punctures them within 30 minutes…but then we stuff other toys in the skin when the ball deflates. I think it might be up Luna’s alley!
