Happy Wednesday, everyone! I’ve been meaning to put together another “5 Things” post for a while, so I’m really excited this is live! Don’t worry, I already have 5 more on deck for next round, too ?
But for now, I’m really focusing on what I love RIGHT now. A recent lunch, my favorite new romper, an exciting contest… well, you can read it! Scroll down and have a peek!
1. Margaritaville Romper
Last week, I got a last minute invitation to Jimmy Buffett at Wrigley Field. It was a gorgeous night, so how could I say no?! Plus, it was the perfect opportunity to bust out this off-the-shoulder romper. All I had to do is add a lei and I fit right in with everyone else! It comes in pink and blue, and both are under $50. Obsessed!
2. Made in the Midwest Recipe Contest
Want to win $500 AND be featured in Midwest Living‘s November/December 2017 issue?! Well, I am judging the Made in the Midwest Recipe Contest with Midwest Living Magazine and I would love love LOVE to see all of you enter! All you have to do is submit a homemade holiday recipe and photo that fits into one of these categories: Sizzling Starter (appetizer featuring bacon), Between the Bread (holiday sandwich), The Perfect Platter (cheese board), A Side of Rice (rice recipe), The Big Apple (apple pie) and Baking Spirits Bright (cookies or cake). Once all of the submissions are in (by July 31st!), I will pick 6 finalists. Will you enter?? More details about the Made in the Midwest Recipe Contest can be found here!
3. Teysha Shoes
You may have noticed these shoes in this post, but they really deserve another look. Teysha is a small company that works directly with Guatemalan artisans to bring their art to the rest of the world… through shoes! Everything is made by hand in their workshop outside of Antigua, and every style is so incredibly unique and special. I’m wearing their Adventure Sneaker, which is perfect for slipping on when I run errands or out to yoga/barre. If you’re in the market for a new pair of comfy shoes, add these to your wishlist!
4. Vital Proteins
I’ve been using Vital Proteins products for a few months now, and every time I talk about it or sneak it into an insta-story, I get a lot of questions. My short answer? I put their collagen peptides or marine collagen in my coffee and/or smoothies almost every day. You can’t taste it, and it’s great for your skin, hair, nails – and the peptides are an easy way for me to get extra protein. Does that suffice, or do you guys want an longer answer? Should I do a whole post about this? Let me know! (photo via)
5. Slightly Toasted
My friend Kit and I have both been traveling a bunch this summer, and we’ve had a hard time finding time to catch up. So, when we realized Slightly Toasted invited us both in for lunch, we decided to go together to check it out! I was expecting to enjoy yet another Avocado Toast in the city and move on with my day – but I was really impressed with the other inventive items on the menu! My favorites were definitely the Strawberries & Cream Toast (first photo) and the Fava Bean Hummus Toast (above). Overall, a lovely little addition to the loop!
