Magnetic Lashes Review: One Two Lash and MoxieLash
Since it’s not safe to get lash extensions right now, here is a review of magnetic lashes from 2 different brands!
Magnetic Lashes Review
As some of you might remember, I tried eyelash extensions last year. While they were super fun to have, I didn’t keep up with them because I didn’t want to stick to the financial and time commitment they require. I was really excited to treat myself to them before the wedding again… but now that that’s postponed and we’re all in quarantine, extensions aren’t even an option anymore!! But don’t worry – if you’re really missing those curly long lashes, magnetic lashes exist.
That’s right. MAGNETIC. Who would have thought?! The two brands I’ve tried are definitely different, but both are great options for a little extra glamour. Here’s what I think of them!
One Two Lash Magnetic Lashes
I got One Two Lash from Sephora on a whim when I was missing lash extensions last year. I figured if I hated them, I could return them… but I actually LOVE them. Application can be a little tricky and there’s definitely a learning curve, but once you get it, it becomes really easy. I also like that they are half lashes, so it adds a little something to your look without being too extra. (I have the Natural Lash size!) My lashes are so straight normally, so these just make me feel how most people feel after curling their lashes and adding mascara ? I totally get how that might not be enough fun for some gals – but I love them! They’re also so lightweight that I forget I have them on which is a big win for me.
How do you put One Two Lash magnetic lashes on?
I apply them by hand after I’ve done my makeup. I place the top lash strip on top of my natural lashes so it lines up with the outer edge of my lash line. After that, I bring the bottom lash strip (this one is marked with a red dot!) underneath my lashes, so the magnets clasp together with my natural lashes in between.
To take them off, gently rub your fingers over the lashes to release the magnet. They come off really easily!
Overall Thoughts
All in all, $59 for magnetic lashes feels like a pretty good deal to me. I like having them for special occasions, photoshoots, and date nights – and I love that I can reuse them. They aren’t the most glamorous choice, but I think that’s what makes them practical. And while there is a little learning curve, you can do it! Practice makes perfect!

MoxieLash Magnetic Lashes
The other brand I’ve tried is called MoxieLash. Instead of two different magnetic pieces, these lashes stay on with a magnetic EYELINER. Yeah, it’s wild. These lashes are also WAY more dramatic. I got their Baby lashes, which is their most subtle and “everyday” option, but I definitely wouldn’t put them on every day. That being said, if you’re going for a fully made up look, these fit the bill!
How do you put MoxieLash magnetic lashes on?
The first step is applying MoxieLash magnetic eyeliner along your lash line. Make sure you apply a thick enough line so the lashes can stick to it. Let it dry for about 2 minutes. Once the liner is dry, you can curl your lashes and apply mascara. (This isn’t necessary, but if you want to apply mascara, you have to do this before putting the lashes on!) After that, line the lashes up along your lash line and allow it connect with the eyeliner. Do the same thing on the other eye and you’re good to go!
They also sell MoxieLash olive oil infused Q-Tips to help you remove your magnetic eyeliner which will gently release the lashes. You can also use any oil based makeup remover, too! I tried basic coconut oil and it worked great.
Overall Thoughts
MoxieLash makes a really fun option, especially if you’re used to a dramatic look. They’re a little much for me for everyday, and I feel them on my eyes more than I feel the others, but will I bust them out for a fun event or special date night? You betchya!
