Red, White, and Sunshine
Dress: c/o Rent the Runway | Sunglasses: Calvin Klein | Jacket: Loft | Bracelet: c/o Monica Vinader | Shoes: c/o M.Gemi (very similar)
How was everyones weekend?! Not gonna lie, I was so happy to spend Saturday outside in the perfect weather… so happy, in fact, that I had a few too many drinks in the Jack Daniels tent at the Windy City Smokeout – wooops! The upside is that I finally got to catch up on all that sleep I’ve been missing AND I got biscuits from Bang Bang bright and early yesterday morning. Win win win win win.
Let’s talk about this look though!! I wore this cute little number when I was on Good Day Chicago a few weeks ago. After filming, I strolled over to Loews Chicago for a meeting about something exciting (details coming soon!) and I stayed for a fun little snapchat takeover with M.Gemi. That rooftop is seriously beyond gorgeous, so I had Julie meet me for a quick photoshoot, too. Talk about a productive morning, right??
If you missed my last post about M.Gemi, they make the most beautiful Italian shoes in the same family owned factories as the big designers (the likes of Valentino), but because they sell directly to the consumer, they are a fraction of the cost. Yes, they’re still expensive… but the quality and craftsmanship is so worth it. You also get $40 off when you purchase through my shop AND one of their private sale starts today!! Eee!
When they asked if I wanted to try out a pair from their July Edit, I jumped at the new Penna style. I love the pointed toe and sling back, but this shoe really wins it’s bonus points with the small stacked heel. I love flats, but a shrimp like me could use a little boost every now and then!! Plus, they’re comfortable enough for days when I’m bopping around from meeting to meeting.
My segment on Good Day Chicago that morning was all about 4th of July style, so this red and white dress couldn’t have been more perfect. I love that it’s patriotic without being too in your face – it even comes in grey and white if you want a more subtle twist. After all, you can’t go wrong with stripes!
