Mindful Monday: You Don’t Always Have To Slay All Day
I know I’ve already shared this quote from Shauna Niequist on my stories, but I think it’s worth sharing here, too. You all know that I love to be positive and ambitious, trusting that the universe has my back. And for the most part, I will be the first one to tell you that you don’t even realize your own potential. You are capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for, so go out and DO IT! Crush everything! Be all the things!!
But sometimes it’s okay to take a little pressure off of ourselves. Especially when life throws curveballs our way that are just too. damn. much. These types of things have happened, are happening, or will happen to all of us… right? Obviously the degree of crappiness varies, but we will all have to deal with stuff we wish would go away and stop getting in our way. And as we figure out how to get through those things, positivity and ambition become just a little bit more exhausting.
So if you are sifting through some of that right now, or you just feel overwhelmed or burnt out, remember that you don’t always have to “slay all day.” Simply looking inward and working as hard as you can to be the best human you can be is enough. Because, while success is lovely, and it may feel good to have people think you’re “killing the game” – who you are deep down has and always will be the most important thing.
