My Essentials For A Relaxing Bath
Happy Friday, friends! I feel like baths are having a bit of a moment right now – anyone agree? It probably has something to do with the extremely cold and snowy winter we’re having, plus the fact that we all can’t really do much outside of our homes thanks to COVID. I mean, if we can’t have a long boozy dinner on a Friday night, might as well draw a bath and treat yourself to a relaxing evening at home!
I haven’t always been a bath gal. I’ve lived in multiple apartments where I didn’t trust myself to get the tub clean enough to then soak in it ? I know city gals out there know what I’m talking about! But as soon as we walked into the primary bathroom in our condo, I gasped at the tub. It had been years since I took a bath, but I knew this tub was going to convert me.
And the past few months proved me right! While I’ll always be more of a shower girl (I need to shower after sweaty workouts!), I like thinking of baths as a treat. It’s something I’ll do for myself every few weeks when I’m feeling sore or stressed or anxious. And because I always feel super relaxed afterwards, I thought I’d share my favorite ways to make it special!
My Essentials For A Relaxing Bath
Bath Salts
Let’s start with my #1 essential because nothing compares to Equilibria’s Mindful Mineral Soak. It has over 30 minerals in it, including 200mg of full-spectrum CBD to help you de-stress and ease sore muscles. It also has Gardenia and Jasmine oils which help nourish the skin – but it also smell INCREDIBLE. Adam walked in the first time I used it and could not stop talking about how amazing it smelled ? I love them so much that I got the subscription so I’d get the discount and never be without it. And if there’s ever a month when I don’t use it all, I just delay the next delivery date a week or two. So easy. (You can also get it in their Body Box subscription, too!)
But the best part is that Equilibria is having a sale right now! From now until 2/22, when you buy any product, you can get a second product (of lesser value) for 50% off! AND if you’re a new customer you can get an additional 15% off on top of that when you use my LAKESHORELADY code! Yay for savings!
Bubble Bath
This category is a little less fancy… but who doesn’t like bubbles?! I’ve found that even a really thin layer of bubbles helps the bath stay warm – and in the winter, I am all about the warmth! I really love the Honest Company Bubble Bath because it’s made without parabens, dyes, or synthetic fragrances.
Candles
You have to set the mood!!! Dim the lights and pull out some candles!! Obviously any candles will do, but we’ve been really loving our Otherland candles recently. They smell SO good!
A kindle or computer
Relaxing doesn’t always come easily for me, so I need to either be reading or watching something when I take a bath. I love my kindle for a LOT of reasons, but the fact that it’s waterproof is a really nice perk. Of course, it’s never the goal to drop it in a bathtub… but it’s nice to know that I don’t need to worry if I do!
If I’m in the mood to catch up on a TV show instead, I just bring my computer into the bathroom with me. I just recommend that you place it somewhere you know it won’t get wet – and maybe get a webcam cover just in case, too ?
Something To Drink
I never take a bath without a big glass of water nearby! That being said, you could also add a glass of wine to that beverage lineup if you’re in the mood. Cheers to the weekend, girlfriend.
Scrunchies
I like to keep my hair up off my shoulders in the bath – and silk scrunchies are my favorite because they don’t break or crease my hair. Plus, they’re cute too!
Robe
I always dread stepping out of the bath, but a robe makes that transition SO much better. Unfortunately my robe is old, but I am actually getting this Brooklinen robe as a part of an upcoming collaboration with them and I can. not. WAIT! If you can’t wait either, you can use code lakeshorelady to get $25 off your order of $100 or more!
Skincare
While a face mask is entirely optional, moisturizer is not!! Whenever I get out of the bath, I always make sure to lock in that moisture right away. I really love Necessaire’s Body Serum (so impressed with this!), Advanced Clinicals’ Body Lotion, and Advanced Clinicals’ Cracked Heel Cream!

WOW what a beautiful bathroom you have! A very cool article that reminded me of how important it is to take care of yourself and take care of yourself! I haven’t taken a bath in a couple of years, even with essential oils! This is exactly what I need now on busy weekdays! And how fun it is to read and relax in the bathroom by candlelight! All right, you finally persuaded me to do it! Thank you very much! I’m going to fill the bathroom and look for oils!
