Nordstrom Sale Roundup 2018: The Best of Every Category
Happy Friday! I know pretty much all of us are having a love/hate relationship with this Nordstrom Sale. It’s a lot hearing about it all the time, but those deals are just TOO GOOD! I snagged a ton of affordable staples for Fall… but I also feel a little hung over from my day yesterday ? I’ve gotten by on little sleep many times, but I don’t think I’ve ever gotten up at 4am to get started! Andddd now I’m dreading my 7am flight on Tuesday… woops!
Anyway, to compliment yesterday’s Try-On Session post, this one takes a deeper dive into all of the different categories of the sale. I didn’t do this to overwhelm you – I just know that we’re all looking and budgeting for different things. I may have been focused on affordable basics, but you might want to splurge on a new coat or pair of boots that you’ll have for years. We all have different holes in our wardrobes, right?
My advice would be to set a budget for yourself. How much are you comfortable with spending? Also, be honest with yourself about what you’re going to want when Fall rolls around. I know I always want to refresh my sweaters and jeans, so those were high on my list. And if it feels crazy to drop all of this money in July, just remember that all of these things will be full price when it’s time to wear them in a few months. Get ahead of the game!
Cozy Clothes
As you probably noticed in yesterday’s blog post, this is my favorite category. In addition to those items, I’m also loving this pullover and these joggers. Hello work-from-home coziness! Also, I highly recommend my favorite plaid shirt, as seen on me here. I know it’s pricey, but it’s the softest shirt you will ever put on. And they make pajamas now, too! That strawberry print is too cute!
Working Girls
Don’t need any more lounge-y clothes, but always looking for new work clothes? It totally makes sense if you work in an office every day – and this sale has a TON of great options for you. I especially love this tie neck blouse and these drawstring trousers – both are work appropriate, but also SUPER versatile!
Jackets and Coats
Not going to lie, I was a little disappointed by this section this year. That being said, this transitional suede jacket is making me swoon. If you want something a little more practical, you can also snag a classic trench, North Face winter coat, or channel your inner Olivia Pope with a wool wrap coat.
Out on the Town
Dresses usually aren’t the highlight of the #NSale for me, but their jumpsuit game is STRONG this year!! Like… how cute is this one and this one (only $52!)?
Shoes
If you are in the market for new shoes, especially boots and booties – get ’em now, girl! From Hunter rainboots to wear-with-everything booties to sleek knee-high boots, there’s a huge selection. And if you want to wear what you buy now, I’m SO excited to wear these knit sneakers in Finland next month!
Denim
I usually tell everyone to buy the typically expensive designer denim during this sale – but there are some really great affordable brands on sale this time around, too! There are Madewell jeans under $100, and I tried on Articles of Society jeans after a reader suggested them and they are AWESOME! I snagged a pair for just $41 – so good!
Fitness Gear
Let’s be real, I always want new work out gear. I love Zella’s high waisted leggings and this Beyond Yoga sports bra is so pretty!!
Bags & Accessories
I’m not in the market for a new bag, but I love this backpack and this pretty pink suitcase for travel. Also, this is weirdly a great time to stock up on undies!
Beauty
I usually skip this section, but they have some amazing deals this year! I’ve been wanting to try Supergoop, Coola, and Kopari… maybe now is the time?! Have any of you tried their products?
Woo! So many goodies!
And don’t forget – if you want sizing info on some of these items, head to yesterday’s Try-On Session blog post. Have a great weekend, everyone!
