So… someone you know is getting married?!
Okay guys. There are about a million blog posts on the internet about planning weddings, beautiful wedding inspo, and even wedding guest attire… but what’s the first thing you need to do when you get invited to an engagement party, bridal shower, or wedding? Get a gift and buy a card, DUH.
The thing is… I hate most wedding related cards. I said it – woops! Has anyone else stood in the aisle at a drug store staring at the awful overpriced options? Haha I’m happy to buy something that my friends/family will actually love, but I really can’t deal with spending $5 on a card that boasts their upcoming nuptials as an accomplishment or has cheesy lines about how their lives are now more complete than everyone else’s are (eyeroll).
No but wait, don’t get me wrong! I freaking LOVE weddings!! I’m a sucker for people vowing to spend their lives together, and I’m actually not as cynical as this intro is making me sound haha – which is WHY I’m always willing to spend a little bit more on cards that genuinely fit the way I feel about my friends/family tying the knot. And that’s where Papyrus comes in…
Yes, a huge ring on a card is cheesy, but there’s a big “OMG” in the middle! It KNOWS it’s cheesy! Plus, the inside of this card really hits the nail on the head.
I mean… it’s what we’re all thinking, right?!
And then there’s this one… I laughed out loud when I saw it, because it would have been appropriate for SO MANY weddings in the past haha At least I can give it to my brother and Ali sometime before October because it is ACCURATE.
I’m seriously already nervous for the amount of tears I will shed during that ceremony… let’s hope the photographer avoids capturing any of that 😉
Along with the cards, I love all of their gift bags!! Seriously, they’re SO pretty on their own – who even needs to put a gift in there?! Haha don’t worry I’m kidding, I promise! That being said, sometimes picking something out is hard and you want to make it easy by giving money, so I love that they have cute little gift boxes for your gift cards! It makes a simple gift a little bit more fun and way more special.
And everyone likes getting a nice bottle of wine in a sparkly bag. That doesn’t even need explaining!
How do you guys feel about engagement/shower/wedding cards? I’d love to know… because I know you’ve all been to at least one this summer 😉
And since this post is pretty much all about paper goods, I also wanted to share these GORGEOUS PAPER FLOWERS that Ali found for her bridal shower. I love the idea of bringing these to a newly engaged couple instead of real ones, because they can literally keep these forever. SO cool, right?!
PS. I think I’m going to give you guys an inside look at Ali’s adorable Bachelorette Weekend soon, too. Just to continue the wedding theme this week – why not, right?! <3
