Peppermint Espresso Martini Recipe
This Peppermint Espresso Martini recipe was sponsored by my favorite spirits company, Prairie Organic Spirits! Thank you for supporting the brands that make Lake Shore Lady possible!
I am SO EXCITED to show you this super delicious holiday cocktail recipe, but it’s also a little bittersweet because this is my last post of the year with Prairie Organic Spirits! Of all of my 2020 partnerships, this has by far been the most fun. For starters, it really is our favorite vodka and gin. Vodka has always been my spirit of choice, and Prairie Organic makes the smoothest one by FAR. Also, Adam usually refuses to drink vodka and even he loves this!
Over the past few months, I’ve learned how to make a Cucumber Vodka Gimlet, Watermelon Ice Cubes (so good with their canned craft cocktails!), Spiked Apple Cider, and a Cranberry Gin Fizz. And while a regular martini is still on my list of cocktails I want to try to make at home I thought it would be fun to end the year with something really festive and fun. Which is how I came up with this Peppermint Espresso Martini!
Tis the season for peppermint mocha lattes, so why not play with a little spiked version, right?! This recipe uses Prairie Organic Vodka, espresso (if you don’t have an espresso machine, Chameleon Cold Brew makes a great bottled one), organic chocolate syrup, milk or creamer (can be plant based!), and a dash of peppermint extract. Adam and I both agree that you can’t even really taste the alcohol in it, since their vodka is so smooth and the peppermint extract adds the perfect finish. I mean, who needs eggnog when you can have THIS?!
more about prairie organic spirits
If you’ve never heard me rave about Prairie Organic Spirits before, here are just a few reasons why I LOVE them. Prairie Organic produces award-winning spirits made with organic corn that is grown without herbicides and pesticides on Midwestern family farms. This requires more time in the field, more regulations, and more standards – but for them, it has always been 100% worth it. They were the first USDA Certified Organic spirits brand and they remain the #1 organic brand to this day.
Their spirits are also “distilled to taste” which means they are individually taste tested by their team of experts to make sure every bottle is perfect. And let me tell you, you can taste the difference. The corn base makes it really smooth, and they even have flavored options, too! I wouldn’t recommend any of their Sustainable Seasons flavors with this recipe, but if you love a simple vodka soda situation, those would be FOR YOU. My favorite is Apple, Pear, and Ginger, but Grapefruit, Hibiscus & Chamomile is amazing with a grapefruit Spindrift, and Watermelon, Cucumber & Lime is delicious blended with some fresh watermelon. And the best part? They’re all low-calorie, made with natural flavors and have zero sugar. Truly the best.
They also have a store locator on their website, so you can easily plug your zip code in and find a retailer near you! I’ve seen it at Mariano’s, Jewel, Target, and Whole Foods – but I hear that most Binny’s have it stocked, too!

How To Make The Holidays Special This Year
Obviously this holiday season is very different than usual. Gatherings are getting smaller, distanced, and masked… or completely cancelled. Traditions are being altered. Menus are being changed. But that doesn’t mean this season can’t have it’s own kind of weird and unexpected magic! After all, I don’t think any of us will EVER forget 2020.
So if you’ve been searching for ways to make the holidays special this year, here are a few of my tips!
Dress up.
Even if it will just be your household for Christmas or you and your significant other for New Year’s – put something on that makes you happy! Maybe it’s a silly Christmas sweater, or maybe it’s sparkly pants like me! Just because you’re not going out on the town doesn’t mean you can’t look and feel great.

Come on, you knew this one was coming 😉 Honestly, any special cocktail will do – but obviously I’m going to encourage you to try this one out because it just tastes like the holidays! Indulgent, fresh, and festive!
Make Fun Appetizers or Desserts
I know a lot of people are ordering their Christmas dinners this year so they don’t have to go through all that effort for just a few people. (Plus it helps support the local restaurants that need us!) But that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun in the kitchen and whip up some fun appetizers or desserts to munch on throughout the day! I have 2 appetizers and 2 desserts coming over the next few days that would be great for both Christmas and New Year’s!
Bust out your games
Don’t just sit there are watch TV… play some games!! If you have 4 people, Exploding Kittens is our favorite – but if it’s only going to be 2 of you, check out this list of the best board games for 2 people!
Set up zoom games/dates
Can’t be with your Grandma? Set up a time to bake cookies together over Zoom! Missing your siblings all over the country? Play a virtual game of Quiplash!

A cold brew will work, but Chameleon Cold Brew also has a bottled espresso. That makes this recipe so easy!
