My Pretty Pink Petite Trick
Pink One Shoulder Dress: c/o Amanda Uprichard | Belt: Halogen | Shoes: J.Crew | Clutch: Gigi New York | Bracelet: Olive & Piper |
Before I dive into this post, I just really need you to look at the picture above and see if you recognize anyone besides me… you see him? I ain’t sayin he’s a gold digger ?
Haha now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about this pink one shoulder dress! Those of you who have been following a while know that I’m obsesssssed with Amanda Uprichard. Seriously, there’s proof in this post and this post and this post and this post… you get the idea! But one of the reasons why I’m obsessed is because her stuff usually fits me SO well. As a petite gal, that isn’t always an easy feat, so when I find designers that work for me, I become extremely loyal.
That being said, they were nice enough to send me this beauty, and I was pretty bummed when I realized I wasn’t going to be able to pull it off “as is” like all of the other AU pieces I have. But instead of feeling defeated, I turned to my favorite petite trick… BELT IT! Just defining my waist totally transformed the dress and now I feel super confident in it. Huge win! I recommend finding a super thin one so the fabric doesn’t buckle too much. And if you’re tall and straight enough to wait this without a belt, I’m very jealous of you. Work it, girl ?
Either way you wear it, it really is perfect for summer weddings. The vibrant color and flirty one shoulder are already great, but the flouncy skirt is just BEGGING for a twirl on the dance floor! Yes, please!
Woops, watch out for Marilyn moments!
