Plaid Blanket Scarf
Scarf: c/o Color Me Styled | Jacket: J.Crew | Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs | Tights: Commando | Shoes: Splendid
If you live in the Midwest or you’ve been watching the news, you know that we got clobbered with a huge snowstorm yesterday. I guess I wasn’t paying enough attention to the weather forecasts, because I couldn’t believe how intense it was! We’re talkin non stop snow, high winds, and lots of accumulation. I ventured outside for the Super Bowl, but walking two blocks was definitely my limit. Oof! Luckily, these pictures were taken (by the super talented Kelly in the City) during a light dusting last week – nothing too crazy!
To keep us all warm, my other super talented friend, Erin, made this plaid blanket scarf for me just in time for all the snow. This one is a little bit smaller than my huge Zara one, but still bigger than any of my normal scarves. It’s perfect for bundling but a little less large and in charge, which is ideal for a petite gal like me.
Even though down coats are probably the least exciting thing to me, I highly recommend J.Crew’s Wintress Puffer. It’s warm, the belt cinches in your waist, and it even comes in petite! Not the most fun purchase, but definitely a necessary one.
I know my hair is a little wet from the snow, but can you see my new highlights? I went to the lovely Eleventh Hour Salon and they did such an amazing job! Compared to the last time, these have more caramel and golden tones which is exactly what I wanted for winter. Plus, I bonded with the employees over our love for Beyonce and Clueless… does it get better than that?!
Kelly snapped these shots for me after lunch at NoMI with Jess, Blair, Erin and Kit. It was my first time eating there, and the quinoa and mozzarella salad blew me away! If you haven’t tried it yet, I urge you to go – the rest of the menu looks delicious, plus the views (even in the winter) are to die for.
Stay warm out there!

The length of this puffer is perfect! The other ones that I have tried always cut me off at the waist and aren't the most flattering. You're too cute 🙂

I have the same coat and absolutely love it!! Having a long coat for winters in Chicago is a huge must for me! Your scarf look's really nice and extra warm for this blizzard! Hopefully we find out winter is ending soon!

Love the puffer coat! And I would completely agree, this option from J.Crew is fantastic. They are definitely my destination for all things winter accessories! Hopefully we'll be blessed with warmer weather soon 🙂 XO

Fingers crossed! And thank goodness for J.Crew!

It's the best one! And the scarf is really warm – and made my Erin! Even cooler!

If you don't mind me asking, what size are you wearing? You make a puffer coat look so cute!
February 3, 2015 @ 1:49 am
Thanks! I'm wearing an XS – I think the belt is what makes it work so well!

Thank you! Is yours a petite? I'm 5'4on a good day and am having a hard time deciding. The joys of being fun sized!

Oh I'm only 5'2'', so I hear you! This one is not petite, just plain old XS. It gave me a little more length against the cold than the petite size, and the belt still cinches it in so it doesn't look too big.

Can you be any cuter? I love this outfit and little snow flakes highlight the photo. Obsessed <3
